(Japan) Wii and PS3 total sales for 2009 thus far

Well everyone said the only reason the PS3 outsold it was because stuff like RE5 came out week after week, yet the Wii still sold comparably without any releases. Why does it sell such high numbers when no games come out, if the excuse for the PS3 outselling was that fact that games indeed came out for that system (for the PS3, I mean)?
