Real time tactics rather than strategy -- I usually prefer rtt games, though I'm not usually anal enough to insist that people distinguish between them :)
Tactics usually means a focus on combat maneuvers rather than resource management and building. RTT games are capable of being way more fun, and besides, they're usually more original than RTS games -- the only RTS I want to play is Starcraft 2.
Favorite RTT games:
Myth: The Fallen Lords (by Bungie, for PC and mac -- an all-time great game)
Total War series in battle-mode.
I actually can't think of any other classic examples... Would any Relic games count? I guess my PC gaming is a little rusty.

Dawn of War 2's campaign
Some levels in Dark Crusade
Some levels in Warlords: Battlecry 2 (which is primarily an RTS, but it's sadly underrated).
Valkyria Chronicles (to a certain extent)
Homeworld
Actually, Dawn of War has a very heavy focus on combat maneuvers, particularly the Eldar and Tau.
If that's what this game will be like, I might get it. When does it release?
