There have been a few western porn/date sim games, but they have almost universally sucked (even by the fairly low standards of such games. I believe Plumber's Don't Wear Ties was a date sim, albeit a fairly tame one)

But it does boil down to cultural differences. Pornography in the west has, in modern times, always very much been an underground thing, not something that a major publisher could profit off of. In Japan, it's easier to sell this sort of thing over the table. It's not mainstream, by any means, but its not something that you have to hide from everybody either

There is no 'real' age limit for porn.

Obviously there is a stigma that comes with a porn game. Japan may have them but they come from small time developers and typically stay on the PC.

Some of the adult stuff that Cinemax (aka Skin-e-max) used to show on late night was actually pretty good story-wise, like for instance "Spiderbabe" (an obvious Spiderman rip-off) or my personal fav, "Lord of the G-Strings," which featured a rather humorous cast consisting of, among other things, Dildo Saggins, Smirnoff the Jizzard, and Saur-ass lol!

Other than that I haven't seen any good cheesy pornos in awhile, except for Orgasmo, but that movies was just horrible, and a pretty poor excuse for an NC-17 rating too lol.

You know, to their defense, the religious conservatives in America and other western nations aren't the ones putting out ultra-violent movies like 300, Kill Bill, Saw XIII, or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 27 year after year... that would be the Hollywood crowd, the same group of people who have the balls to lecture us about how violent of a culture we are, yet have no problem consistently putting out movies that created an entirely new sub-genre referred to as "torture-porn" because of it's focus on gruesome acts and mutilation, etc.

Not to mention the fact that there's a big difference between tastefully done love scenes in films, and the "love-scenes" in movies that Hollywood likes to put out, some of which make your average cheesy porn flick look tame by comparison.
