Munkeh - I'm sure they would perfer a customer to buy the Go prior to the purchase but if the customer ends up buying a 3000 I'm sure they wont care.

Sony may have more stuff hidden that they are saving for GamesCon.... but it is very unlikely, it is nearly certain that it will be incredibly profitable. However, take a look at the difference between the 16GB iPod Touch and the 32GB iPod Touch, it is $100 just for that memory
Well come on, Sony needs a profit after they lost billions on the ps3 and with the bad economic crisis in the US.

I've been on the fence for one for a really long time, it's just every new version gives a little a like and then gives a little I don't.
I love the idea of not having to fiddle with discs, but I hate short battery life and the price.
The fail train continues for the GO. Why would anyone pick one up over a 3000 again? Paying more for less functionality isn't what I'd call an improvement.

A UMD drive if you have a collection of UMD discs.
Of course if SCE comes up with a reasonable way to transfer those prior UMD purchases to digital format, the only reason to even hang onto the format is if you just like the way those UMDs look on your shelf and find the humming whir of mechanical media a soothing complement to your portable gaming experience.
Barring that, the only real thing going against the Go is the price.
I'm good with the batter life. Nice to hear it comes with the USB cord. I'm officially happy.
The whole embedded battery thing is clearly because of the pandora battery.
