Mag looks awesome. I'm really looking forward too it. It seemed to run smooth and well.. has a cool art direction too. I don't get why none of the big media give it credit.. Oh well. I hope it'll do well when it comes out :p

It's an FPS with no aliens, and no uber graphics. Of course the reviewers hate it.

It was nice to see Heavy Rain win one, it deserves it. Uncharted 2 just kinda swept up everything here didnt it. I was a little surprised it took action game from GOWIII, and MP from MAG, especially since I think the MP sucks for U2. And why wasnt Gran Turismo 5 the racing game winner or even mentioned?

Unless it is a graphics or trailer award, games must be playable to be nominated.

I agree with all except Fighting and Most Innovative
Fighting:Should have been Tekken's hands down. I dont even think half the people who hate Tekken know why. It is basically the only fighter constantly moving forward instead of being stuck in forever retro land(Street Fighter IV, KOF) where we THINK the 2D is the best way to go in theory but when actually executed it feels lackluster because it is very so outdated. Tekken has more content, characters, moves, etc then the competition combined(what wahs SFIV's roster? like 20? pathetic).

Most Innovative should have been MAG. I mean, Uncharted was def best game of the entire show, but it doesn't accomplish the very large technical feat MAG does. Zipper interactive were robbed.

Well then I guess its OK, if that was the case then I wouldve chosen ModNationRacers.

Tekken wont bomb man. And it should have won best fighter.. But atleast it looks like they were impressed with uncharted 2.. and the wands :p

Tekken is a HORRIBLE fighting game. I'm glad KOF is up there, but I can't believe they are missing Blazblue!! KOF / Blazblu will blow the PS3 fighting scene up alongside SFIITurbo, MVC2, and SF4. Tekken hasn't been good since Tekken Tag.

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

Since you haven't heard from anybody who actually plays at Evo or regional tournies (I do fyi) I'll fill you in on why a lot of ppl dislike Tekken. The game is all about 'safe' moves, it has no technical aspect to it compared to the games you tried to go against. Most the fighters in Tekken are absolutely useless also, and only there to fill space. An overabundance of characters ISN'T a good thing. It ruins the balance of the game, example: MVC2. MY FAVORITE FIGHTER, but in all honesty, you will only see 6-8 characters in a tournament out of the 50+. Also, Tekken's sister game VF is MUCH more balanced and uses the fighting scheme in a completely superior way, its unfortunate that it isn't widely accepted either, mainly because it resembles Tekken so much.

@Casey
I still find 2D fighters(like SF, KOF, GG) to be extremely broken. The move sets are clunky, stances so stoic. I know I am probably in a minority or whatever but I simply am not that fond of those type of fighters. I also find VF to be limiting and DOA to be a joke(sex cash in). Tekken just always kind of fell into place. Yea, Tekken has a few useless characters but I always felt like I had more of a fighting chance with any Tekken character then other fighters (Ken and Akuma*cough*)

Trust me, we all know the over powering aspects of Ken, Akuma, Sagat, Ryu, etc etc :eyeroll here: hahah But EVERY game has that imbalance unfortunately (Except VF5). As for calling the movesets clunky? I completely disagree, it's all about framerate timing, and knowing when to strike, what counters what, etc etc, much more depth than any 3d fighter can bring. The only "Successful Tourney" 3d Fighter IMO is Soul Caliber. DOA 3 though IMO was A LOT OF FUN lol, and the sex appeal did help haha

A few things to notice:

1) Fat Princess didn't win Best Downloadable game!

2) Uncharted 2 won pretty much everything.

3) The "surprise" wasn't really a surprise at all. Hello, $40 loss...

4) Tekken lost. Again.

5) No Platformer category? The 360 had one.

1. The IGN PS3 team is overweight and they don't want to be reminded... had it been on the 360 it would have been a different story.

2. Uncharted 2 is better than pretty much everything, interesting though that MAG didn't get the multiplayer award. I was looking for it to be big so thats disapointing but I can manage if I can think of something insulting about MM.

3. The PS3 slim/price cut is coming... people just got their hopes up. Perhaps the IGN PS3 thought it would be a watershed moment for their own weight loss.

4. I cannot say why... Its an uber titan of the fighting variety. Perhaps its not as good as the previous titles?

5. You're just jealous. ADMIT IT!!!!

1) But then they should love Fat Princess! Haven't you seen that episode of Family Guy where Lois becomes really fat, and Peter becomes more attracted to her?

2) Well, MM can have "multiple players" at once

3) Wouldn't it make them uncomfortable, gaming on a console so much thinner than them? They would become anorexic.

4) Or maybe IGN just loves the letters "XII"- Look at Final Fantasy XII.

5) Maybe the PS team is too fat to jump, so platformers make them feel bad.
