M...M...Mario starts with a m.

eureka. that is it. the other m is Mario. instant ten million seller

Like the concept art for Zelda some people are just thinking too hard.

Samus is in the suit. Sakamoto already confirmed that the girl isn't another Samus.

Other Mother - Another Mother Brain?

Other Metroid - There's got to be metroids in here somewhere, right?

Other Malkovich - Refferring to the AI Adam that will eventually be in Fusion

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

You and I have the same idea about the "Mother" part, but it was the girl in the power was the one saying she was "Samus Aran." The game also takes place between Super Metroid and Fusion.

I only saw 2. What are the other 2? Are you counting in mario and sonic at the winter olympics?

They said that other M has a few meanings that will get an explanation the further you get in the game. It doesn't have 1 meaning, but more then one.

Well two things for sure were in the trailer.
Adam from fusion and the mother brain killing the metroid from Super Metroid.

I don't think it's that complex probably just meaning a new breed of metroids, that's my theory.

congrats on modship! Thanks for banning me!

OT: Other M is just the codename, as far as I know.

Since it has a non-brainwaves-in-computer Adam Malkovich this has to predate Metroid 1. Samus was a federation soldier before she was a bounty hunter.

I'm thinking the woman with short hair isn't Samus but is instead someone else who wore the Chozo powersuit before Samus. The mother theory doesn't make any sense though since the two women don't look like they have much of an age difference and, as others have noted, Samus's mother is supposed to be dead anyway.

I don't see how any Metroids can be in this game without a severe retcon though. Is it still a Metroid game if it doesn't have any metroids?
