I say forget waiting on a price drop that wont be announced until a week before if you really want to own a PS3 and can afford it. Ask yourself is having the slimmer model more worth the wait. If I were you Id try to snatch a 80 MGS4 at a decent price(I dont even care for MGS). BC system, Dual Shock, reliable + a AAA title packed in. I own a 60 and 20 and they have some heat issues(Both have been YLOD and fixed by me). Again if its in your budget, treat yourself....its a great system.

He kept wanting to buy a PS3 and I told him to wait for price cut month after month until one day just 3 weeks off E3 he said that's it I'm buying a PS3 I told him just wait there is this big event and sony could announce a price cut he said "you and sony can go fuck yourselfs I'm tired of waiting"

then he took 5 of my PS3 games when he bought his and left with nothing lucky me I have a 360

Sony's pretty much inadvertantly confirmed that a significant price drop is coming to PS3 this year. My guess is that it will come alongside the 120GB PS3 slim which will be launching sometime between August and November.

You can mark my words.

No harm in waiting since you don't own a PS3 already. I've heard in mid-August there will be a price drop of $100 just prior the launch of the new Madden which comes out on Aug 14/09 and they might do it as a as well bundle.

Plus you lucked out since you didn't get the MGS4 Bundle for $399 with PS3 remote. It can play PS one and 2 games, also MGS4 was awesome.

I would be very surprised if there's no price cut this year, no later than November. If you're prepared to wait until then, do.

I suspect a price drop before December. Depending upon your view that's a long way away or pretty imminent.

If you can't wait go ahead and have fun playing and take the view the extra cost covered the months you'll spend playing vs not playing.

Get a ps3 now, heaps of specials and u can get infamous + heaps of stuff free :) Well in AUS anyway. There's like a package atm, Ps3 + Infamous + Extra Controller + assasins creed + Sega Smash Tennis + HDMI cord ... Altho its really expensive here, prob much cheaper in USA, its $650 here
