We will have to see. Forza 3 is looking very good. I am a die hard GT5 fan, but I can't sanely deny that Forza 3 is impressive. A few months ago I would have easily agreed that GT5 will own all, but it's not clear cut anymore I think.

The game is still TBA 2009. It will most likely be extended until 2010 if Sony doesn't bitch out Polyphony to launch the game for the holidays.
| JEDE3 said: No, he's extending it so he can make it seem longer than it really is so he can make it look worse than it really is. Common troll tactic. |
Not at all. I'm not trolling, because I am actually going to buy the game. I am just getting sick of Polyphony stalling the game for so long. People were jumping all over Alan Wake, making fun of its release date and no one complains about this game. At least we have a clear cut time that Alan Wake is coming out.

That is... so wrong. Have you even been following the recent "Forza 3 vs Gran Turismo 5" thing? If anyone is cocky, its the definative Turn 10. And... as stated above, PD have been working on a number of different projects in this 5 years, so how do you know that GT5 itself has taken 5 years to create? |
Turn 10 stripped the game down and started from scratch and was still able to make a superior racing game to GT5 Prelude, which took the same amount of time to make. PD may have been working on a number of projects, but don't you think they could've split the teams up for that? GT5 Prelude was just a taste test for the real thing, because they couldn't finish on time. As for the timeline, I am stating a timeline from 2005 when they started the game to 2010, when GT will most likely go gold. People will be lucky to even purchase the game by Christmas. GT5 Prelude was released in 2007, so that adds up to two years. Every GT game has had added years since the creation of GT3. Look at the release dates. GT PSP was five years in the making. That game was announced in 2004 and has been talked about because of all the delays. After E3 it started recieving positive press, kind of like Alan Wake which got a bat rep because of its inability to launch on time.
You are all over the place STAGE. 1. are Alan Wake devs working on other things? If the answer is no the two are not comparable. 2. How are they stalling?
Any time Forza 3 can come close to GT5 is a positive for Forza 3 and a negative for GT5. GT4 was the uncontested champion race game and now the title is being contested. Just as the PS3 was expected before this generation to be by and large way out in front of the competition, so was GT5 expected to be by and large out in front of the competition.
Tease.
We'll find out FULL details in next months OPM mag UK
I can't wait, we'll actually see its true graphics then!
@squilliam
so GT4 is suddenly undisputed
don't xbox fans never forget to remind us that Forza 2 scored higher than GT4?

Polyphony's devs already admitted the game could've been released already. Nuff said. Yamuchi is a cocky little fuck. He will keep the game in development as long he wants just because he can. This is his testimony. You guys want to call the guys at Turn 10 cocky? This fucker doesn't care what you think.

LOL... no where in that article does he come off as cocky try harder.

First, F3 didn't start from scratch. They rebuilt the graphic engine, modeled the cars and tracks. The whole physics engine and many other stuff could be used from Forza2.
Where is your source stating PD started the development of GT5 since 2005?
In 2005 they were working on Tourist Trophy after GT4 was done. And probably also was working on GT PSP since they announced it on 2004, half a year before the PSP came out.
They released Tourist Trophy in early 2006. I guess around that time they received the PS3 development kit (the media got the first kit on Aug 2006, 3 months before the PS3 launched). AND then they started the whole next GT thing some time around mid 2006 and released the GT:HD on late 2006 as a vision/tech demo/whatever.
Other than developing GT5, they also hosted numerous GT events like GT Academy and Gran Turismo Awards, and annually for the Gran Turismo Award. They were also designing the multifunction monitor the the Nissan GT-R, co-developing the GT by Citroen, making promotional videos for Ferrari California, etc.
They were doing much more than you think. They're making the game to archieve their passion and vision, not making the game to beat the deadline and kill the competition.
