no I think he means games like God of War 3 and such...

"I think our [motion] controller can be used with every game that’s on the system now"

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Has anyone played a FPS like MoH or CoD on the wii? Has anyone played TPS like Godfather or Scarface? They only have to do the same thing and you will see it will works, you just got to give it a chance. Once you play GTA with the controls of GodFather or ScarFace or Killzone 2 with the controls of CoD wii or RS2 I don't think you go back.

All I have to ask is: How do you move your character around?

Since the prototype shown did not have any analog sticks, how will you control the movement of your character? Unless they add this I consider it a major fail. Not to mention you have to buy multiple items (perhaps bundled together) to get near the same result as the Wii.

Sounds like more of Sony's false claims and PR bullshitting before something comes out. I am 200% sure this ain't going to happen.

I can't see dev's having any incentive to go back and patch their games to make them somehow usable with this technology. Sony could always pay them I supposes, but that would further drive them into the red. Just like with Natal, the only way it will succeed is if it has great software bundled with it initialy to show off the tech to the average user and get them excited about it (see: Wii Sports and Wii Play) and for third parties to jump on board with games built for it. Of course, Sony has more first party studios to aid in this transistion as well.

If they are making motion controls for the games they currently have in production once those have shipped I can't see it being terribly difficult for most of thier studios to patch the same controls into older games. If they host the updates for free on PSN more developers might be inclined to follow.

P.S. Anyone think the Heavy Rain pushed to 2010 because of Sony's motion controller?

No.  Heavy Rain is mostly button pressing to change the events of a movie.  There are times where you control your character's movement, but it is mostly a string of QTE's connected by the occasional button press.

I'm not sure they can change the entire control scheme with just a patch (but i wouldn't know for sure).

Also, developers would have no incentives to do this (unless sony paid them, which in their current state, it would be stupid to), since it doesn't entice people to buy the current game (with motion controls) and you'll be doing it for (for most games) the less than 2 million people that bought it at retail assuming they still play the game or have any interest in it anymore.

So this would be useless to EA Sports, Infinity Ward, Activision, Naughty Dog (with Uncharted), 2K sports and a bunch of other studios who make money by pushing the same product every year with minor updates OR developers with single player only games.

So whether this is feasible or not (I believe it's not), it'd be a really poor business move (for developers and for Sony who'd have to provide them incentives to waste money).
