Okay I'm a Wii Fit hater.

By changing your diet and jogging outside for 30 minutes a day + some pushups/situps or other exercises you could have lost just as much without paying for an $80 game.

True but its the motivation that Wii Fit offers, alot of people (myself included) have trouble sticking to a workout routine, but with Wii Fit and all the charts and stats its throws at you working out becomes addiciting and even fun. Honeslty without Wii Fit I probably wouldent have lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks like I did.

By the way yesterday I was -1.6 pounds to bring my total weight loss after 4 weeks to 12.1 pounds

are you a gym hater too? you have to pay $20/month to run on a treadmil inside.

Everyone likes exercising differently, so there is no reason to hate on any one method. Now, if EA Sports Active didn't push you hard, or Wii Fit didn't offer the cool charting tools, then I would agree with you that spending the money was a waste.

Hello all, thought I'd join this thread.

I've had Wii Fit for the past year, but I've only gotten serious with it in the last week.

According to Wii Fit (which I've never reset), it's my 412th day, but I'm calling Monday the 15th my initial weigh in. I was 125.2kg (276lbs). The largest weight I have on record is 132kg (291lbs).

My goal is to reach 80kg (176.4lbs), and maybe lose a few more kilos after that at a slower pace.

Here are my results so far:

Monday 15/6 - 125.2kg (276lbs)
Tuesday 16/6 - 124.5kg (274.5lbs)
Wednesday 17/6 - 123.4kg (272.1lbs)
Thursday 18/6 - 122.9kg (271lbs)
Friday 19/6 - 122.9kg (271lbs)
Saturday 20/6 - 122.7kg (270.5lbs)
Sunday 21/6 - 122.5kg (270.1lbs)
Monday 22/6 - 122.2kg (269.4lbs)
Tuesday 23/6 - 121.7kg (268.3lbs)

So I'm about 8% of the way there.

For the past week and a bit, I've been concentrating almost entirely on aerobic exercises, with the odd muscle or yoga exercise thrown in. I average about 45 minutes a day, but for instance, today, I did 1 hour and 19 minutes. My favourite fat-burning combo. is:

Jogging (Island Lap) -> Rhythm Boxing (Super Advanced) -> Super Hula Hoop (10min.)

It's funny you should mention hating the gym, nordlead. I can't stand the idea of exercising around other people. I'm pretty uncoordinated, and it often takes me a few tries to get exercises right. For me, I can imagine nothing worse than having other people stare at me while I try to do so. Also, at a gym, I find there's little outside motivation to do the exercises. Wii Fit's helpful in that regard because it keeps track of high scores. I find trying to beat someone's high score (even my own) to be a great motivator.

Chairman-Mao, are you overweight? If you're not, your attitude would explain why. It sounds like you don't need motivation to lose weight.

So anyway, part of the reason I'm posting here is to see if I can get a little bit of a competition happening for high scores. I'm running out of high scores to beat (that aren't my own) on Wii Fit. I'll post one to get us started. I challenge anyone with some weight entries here (and a copy of Wii Fit) to beat it.

Rhythm Boxing (Super Advanced): 1361pts

Currently playing: Wii Fit / The Sims 3

Try  PrizeRebel , it could make you  rich ! I have  $15.80 USD  so far. I  love  BengaBenga' Most Wante lists.

I booted up Wii Fit and did the rhythm boxing and you have me beat by ~100 points. I don't pay attention during the instructions since I hate the huge gaps and then my first punch is typically wrong, which in the end cuts out a lot of points from what I could be getting.

DAY 15,16,17,18,19
lb lost total: 5.9lb

I finally snapped my resistance band a couple days ago. I was doing standing rows & triceps kickbacks and I was standing so the band was stretched when my arms were fully extended downward. I figured then I'd have resistance throughout the entire exercise rather than it being slack at the bottom. I broke when I raised my arms up and was about to extend my left hand back. Luckily I was wearing shoes and it broke right near my hand. I'm still using the band, but now it is a little shorter.

If anyone has any suggestion of resistance bands that are medium/high resistance but can stretch fairly far I'd appriciate it. I'm ~5'11" and when I reach above me those bands really need to stretch. For now I'm just hoping the one I'm using doesn't snap again

I'm also down to 202.4lb and now have 22.4lb to go to my goal. I'm pacing right around 2lb/week, so I'm on the upper side of good weight loss.

whoo, its been a while since I updated this.

my last update I was at 219 pounds, having lost 12 pounds in about 4 weeks, starting weight of 231 pounds

now after 6 weeks in total, I weigh about 214 pounds, so thats 18 pounds pounds lost in 6 weeks or roughly 3 pounds a week.

today's results are -0.9 pounds to bring me down 213.9 pounds

well on my way to 180. :D

Norlead, the band that comes with Active is the worst, be glad it snapped.
MAKE SURE THE LENGTH OF WHATEVER BAND YOU GET IS AT LEAST 5 to 6 feet, lots are only 3 feet. Walmart ones are only 4 ft so don't use these.

I went to Target, got the Prospirit 3-pk band set for $10.99. Yellow - Light; Red - Medium; Blue - Heavy. Didn't say the length on the box, but they all work fine. EA's provided red band doesn't even compare to the medium band in my 3-pack. I reused the flat handles EA provided and setup my new band just like the original band. I used it once so far --- huge difference in my workout!! This would be my #1 choice, but I don't see it offered online. So if there's no Target near you, here's a few other ideas:

From Amazon, Thera-Band is a good brand. If you really want the burn, this assortment of heavy and ultra heavy resistance is great, but much more difficult than the included red band. : www.amazon.com/Thera-Band-Exercise-Heavy-Extra-Special/dp/B0010YC1NY/ref=pd_sbs_sg_3

if you need less resistance other packs are available, or even these single bands.

BAM! There it is!

Wii Code 3456 7941 4060 2924
COD MW Reflex 541192229709

I snapped the one my wife bought, not the one that came with the game. I don't really use the one that came with the game except for lateral raises as the one I was using was too high resistance.

I have a target so I'll check out those.

I'm also 1 day away from finishing my 30-day challenge and it looks like I'll finish off with 7lb lost due to snacking over the 4th of July weekend along with lots of snacking the previous weekend due to partying on the boat in the water

While 7lb won't be bad, I could have lost more and will be re-doing the 30-day challenge, but this time on intense even though I'm sure it will kick my butt.
