"Turn 10 is “running out of improvements” to make on the Forza series.

Forza franchise director Dan Greenawalt told VideoGamer.com at E3 that the development team has “proven” that it can deliver a “simulator no-one else can touch”.

During Microsoft’s E309 media briefing last week, Greenawalt took to the stage to confirm the latest iteration in the Xbox-exclusive racing sim, Forza 3, would be released this October.

Greenawalt said: “Basically we’ve proven ourselves, that we can deliver a simulator no-one else can touch. For this version we made improvements but we’re actually running out of improvements to make because no-one else is doing the stuff we’re doing."

They have been trash talking WAY too much.  I loved Forza 2 and 3 looks to  be a solid title, but running out of things to do?  Come on... that's rubbish!  If they truly run out of things to do, they need to get some more creative talent and/or find a new profession.  I'm all for hyping your game in a meaningful way, but if they game isn't an 11/10 on an epic scale, reviewers are going to blast them.

Well who cares, I hope that GT5 will get higher ratings so they can STFU already... yeah, as far as I see it Forza 2 was good and 3 will be better, but still not GT caliber for me ;)

Lol, "running out of things to do". I can see they might be running out of obvious improvements, but there are always things that can be done to improve.

i agree this war of words has me interested in niether game.

tho forza 2 and GT 4 both bored me way before completion.

these games could be the best sims on earth, but for me i'll just keep playing Midnight Club LA.

game guys need to get humble sometimes. 'nothing to add'. im sure they'll leave stuff out. bet theres no out of car walking around stuff! coulda been good.

From a simulation perspective they probably are approaching the limit of what can be simulated that people would notice without having an order of magnitude more processing power ... Certainly, with 100 times the processing power and 100 times the memory they could create a rough fluid dynamics simulation in order to have the cars be effected by how the wind interacts with the aerodynamics of their body, but how much more can you add without adding a dramatic ammount of processing power?

Unless they've designed the game so that I can listen to internet radio and put my right arm around my girlfriend, then there are still improvements to be made.

Come on guys, like I have said before they are just happy they have a good game and are hyping it. Would anyone give a damn if they said "we have a good game" ? They are just saying a few things to get it hyped up and people talking about it.

Frankly, I am getting sick of people continually bringing this up. How many threads do we need on this same exact subject? Pretty sure there will be more in the morning as well.

This wasn't a compare GT5 to Forza 3 thread.  Stop comparing the two since neither have come out and you haven't played them.  You and every other GT5 fanboy keep telling us it will be better than Forza 3 and will score higher.  You simply don't know that.  Your quote is as bad as Turn 10's.

Instead, this thread was about self-crowning themselves the king of racing titles.  They are setting themselves up for a nasty fall if the game isn't epic.  They are also becoming the emporer with no clothes.   Again, it has nothing to do with GT5.  It is about their growing self-assurance -- so much so that they will lose sight of the end goal...  A dose of humility would help them about now as damage control...
