I never understand why a father would teach his young child to fire a weapon! There are too little details to go blaming someone, but that just screams BAD IDEA to me.

Who needs to teach their kid that.  You point and pull the trigger.  A guns interface is pretty easy to understand.

The kid loaded the shotgun, I doubt a 9 year old would be able to do that without a fair amount of time. I know I wouldn't instantly know as I have never used a gun.

I've never used a shotgun... yet i'm pretty sure I could load one... I mean... they're pretty self explanitory... assuming they work like the shotguns in videogames anyway.

UGH! Seriously, Why the hell would you leave a gun out around kids?

agree with you.

The problem is the gun's existence. If guns weren't sold to any adult for no reason and with no training required, this death wouldn't have happened. LOL at your constitution.

That's too far dude. You do know you have to have a license to own a weapon.

The parent who purchased the weapon shouldn't be at fault for buying the weapon. They should be at fault for leaving it in a place were a fucking moron kid could get at it.

"Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide." - John Adams

The first line of that quote is what's important. Basically it say's protecting peoples liberties comes at a cost, but the cost is worth it.

I left the rest of the quote in as a reminder for people like me who are upset that the world John Adams created no longer exists. The good news, is he knew it would fail, so no need to feel like we let him down.

The country we have falling into for the last 90 or so years, is what he expected. He would probably be shocked it lasted as long as it did.

I know some gun lovers won't agree but I think that anyone under the age of 18 (possibly even older) shouldn't be allowed to handle a gun or have access to one. I don't care if it's for hunting or whatever the fact is that when you're young you're still learning how to handle your emotions and the last thing that should be a part of that is a gun.
