And how can people say the world needs LESS gun control???

Honestly, it make you feel sick that people are allowed to just keep a lethal weapon in the closet for kids to use.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

They should have banned the kid and there wouldn't trouble.

^ The guy who owned the gun clearly should not have been allowed one if he knew so little about guns. I mean keeping the gun in a closet with full access to his kids, who obviously also knew nothing about gun safety.

It was an accident waiting to happen.

More like he shouldn't have been allowed to have kids.

Clearly, it's the failure of the government that failed to raise his children for him.

I never understand why a father would teach his young child to fire a weapon! There are too little details to go blaming someone, but that just screams BAD IDEA to me.

Who needs to teach their kid that.  You point and pull the trigger.  A guns interface is pretty easy to understand.

*sigh* first off: Shouldn't the gun have a safety lock or something on when it's not being used?; Shouldn't you put your gun in a safe place where children cannot access it? If you ask me the father was totally negligent here and doesn't know much about gun safety

This is why gunracks have locks.

Gunracks have locks right?

Sometimes I wish that havings kids was something we could restrict to people who pass a test.

I actually like that idea although it does restrict some aspects of freedom. But other than that I agree wholeheartedly

This has nothing to do with video games, and everything to do with upbringing. If the dad had kept his gun locked up, this wouldn't have happened. Also, if he had taught the kids proper gun handling procedures, and how to channel their anger and frustration better, well, no news story. So the dad + parenting = FAIL. Not, kid + video game = dead child.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
