Trophies are nice, and some of us really like them. Sony has also said that one day trophies will be valuable items too, like credits for Home purchases or exclusive demos/betas.

I might as well just stick with my ds then.

 

I like your analogy. But at the same time, when you pirate a game you get a game for free... so if you don't pirate because there's no trophies, you're associating trophies with a value equal to the price of the game.


And I'm just one of those people that have never understood what makes trophies so great.

 

If you could trade them in for stuff... like the xbox system... it would be different.

how the hell will they be able to tell if someone owns the UMD or not?
seems silly to me.
As for psp trophies; meh.

How the hell are people finding negative things about this?

Sony are going to continue the situation where you cannot get trophies on the PSP, because it makes it unfair for people who don't have PSP's, because they can't get as many trophies as other people they are competing with, it keeps the playing field level.

Having free downloads from UMDs is great, but the question is how would they ensure that the UMDs can't be used too many times

I don't see why everyone is getting at Sony so much, they do what the fans want, they make it slightly too expensive, but still, they do what the fans want. They make it more portable, make it lighter, give it a better battery life, give it 16gb of memory

What more do you want from sony !!!!!!!!!!

What could be proposed to Sony is the idea of sending your UMD's in and they give you a digital copy. I mean if a person trades in their regular PSP to get a PSP Go! then why would you need to keep the UMD's? I just don't know how well that would work considering  that there are probably a few people like me that have close to 20 games for the psp x.o

Some people have on this site have 70... Anyway, I would quite like to keep my UMDs. Certainly in future they can introduce a serial code system, but I think that sending them in might be the only way to ensure that people do not take advantage of this system
