Forums - Sony - I think I've committed a sin against you guys...

@ironman

I think it all comes down to what several people, including jede and myself have already said:
If those kids specifically asked for a ps3, which they probably did, seeing as how he thought there was no difference anyway, then that was F*cked up. If they didn't, and he was just going off of brand name, then sure you have a point.
In which case I would wonder why he knows ps3 but not the others.

Oh dear this isn't going to end well

The guys kids are not going to care if Wall-E is on a regular DVD or Blueray. This guy is a parent, he probably doesn't want his kids shooting it up on COD, or KZ2. Also, the statement that adults don't know anything about gaming is just wrong, as was shown in my last post.

Last I checked the Wii couldn't play DVD's unless hacked :S..... and PS3 has games for the young mature and old, there's more than just CoD and KZ, just take a short browse through the PSN store.

@bugrimmar

You should ask those owners if anyone returned a wii recently. :P

well, this guy was a PARENT. His final choice is the law when it comes to his children. If he felt the Wii was the better choice, well then his kids should be grateful they got a gaming system at all. Lets not forget that PS is a highly known brand, the guy probably heard "PS3" a lot and figured that would be a good console based on brand name. This happens quite frequently, so get over yourself. The O.P. did not force the guy to buy a Wii, he merely suggested it, and gave solid reasoning why. In the end, the guy made his decision, and I'm sure he's happy with it.

Oh, well if you are going to believe that this guy who knows nothing about games just went out and bought a console because his kids said "Dad buy us some video games that we also don't know about", then I would have to agree with you.

By the way, as far as that parental law thing goes. Be careful if you ever use it, because irrational ones, like this one, only set up divisions that eventually become boundless.

Yes, because the only reason I would ever buy a system for my kids was if they asked for it, not because I wanted to get them a new toy.

As far as parental law goes, yes, a parent lays down rules, and the kids are expected to follow.

Dude it's bad salesmanship to out talk someone. You should answer their (the customer) question directly and you should NOT make any suggestions. If the person is unsure then yeah give them a quick rundown of each system and the one they seem more intrested start talking it up.

Bad salesmanship, but it is great for the customer, I would rather shop at a store where they will find me the best value, not one that just tries to sell me the most expensive money.
