Forums - Nintendo - Someone thinks Nintendo won E3

My thread was much better than that article.

Why don't I get paid? :(

I thought Nintendo's was amazing.

I didn't watch the other two's. Only thing I have heard about Microsoft's is NATAL. and Sony has a motion controller too, but I haven't seen it. Did they even show it off?

Microsoft did a little bit of on-stage demoing of Natal, but there were a few problems with the motion tracking. They showed some videos of it as well (advertisment style). They let several journalists try Burnout controlled with Natal, but that wasn't on stage.

Sony's demo was just a tech demo, no games were shown, not even to journalists.

We can say what we want, it depends what we think and want from an E3: Nintendo's E3 was the one with the greatest variety of games, and also a few big surprises. The other two shows were good, with a lot of IPs, but most of them were expected (exept FF14). This year's there's no a clear winner, but Nintendo people must be happy, they had a great show (like both MS and Sony)!

ermm? NIGHTdragon says: ""And Sony had probably the strongest line-up of exclusive AAA 1st and 2nd party titles.""

Umm which games u think are AAA from Sony? do u think they had more AAA than Nintendo? Name them...if u dont mind that is....

Let's see... God of War 3, Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank Future 2, Gran Tourismo 5, Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian just to name some off the top of my head were all AAA exclusive titles from Sony, while Nintendo had the aformentioned Galaxy 2, NSMB Wii, and Metroid: Other M, plus the obligatory Wii Sports Resort.  And since both Galaxy 2 and the new Metroid aren't coming out until sometime in 2010, I'd have to give the edge to Sony over Nintendo for number of AAA exclusives this year.

Umm Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank aren't really AAA games (although that could change, I'm just going by how their prequels were rated), and of course you won't know if Heavy Rain or Last Guardian will be AAA.  Also Some of those titles you mentioned are also slated for a 2010 release, so if that's actually a criticism, Sony gets it too ;).

Anyways, imo Nintendo had the best games, but MS had Natal :D.

Yeah, that article mirror's what I've been saying.
Sony's presented a lot of great games, that won't be out until next year and will pretty much only appeal to the fans they have now. GT5, FF & GoW will pull some late PS2 adaptors but not until 2010. Motion controller is way too little too late to compete with Nintendo's WM+ and paled compared to Natal.
MS had some nice exclusives for this year and Natal engaged the imagination but is long from becoming reality for the average user.
Nintendo has WM+ out now. It's reality now not sometime in the future with unknown games. Plus NSMBWii, SMG2, WF+ will all easily outsell any of the games Sony or MS had thanks to their mass appeal. Metroid was also nice but sales-wise probably inconsequencial.

I think this article highlights the problem with this background VGChartz have gone for. I can't for the life of me read the blue text in the opening post. Oh well!

Anyway of course Nintendo won. NSMB Wii, SMG2, Metroid Other M. How could they not win?

One thing I though should be considered when deciding who "Won" E3 (although I don't think you can "Win" an expo) is that Nintendo had the most, and most interesting, stuff on display for a 2009 release that hasn't been on display for several E3s already. Most of what Sony or Microsoft displayed either won't be released until 2010 (and possibly 2011 with how things have gone so far this generation) or have been displayed since 2007 (or before).

I loved Nintendo's showing at E3. It didn't had megstars to bluff like The beatles but it was sober and to the point. and no, I don't hate cammie. Grow up.

But I think that the 3 companies did a good job this year, cattering to their respective audience. I guess that all depends of the kind of games you like. Me? I can't wait for NSMBWii :D

So this group judged based on diversity, which is why they got the different result

It really seems that who won E3 was based very much on what criteria you used
