I thought sixaxis was considered over when sony released the dualshock3.

PS3 exclusives have a good use of sixaxis. And motion controllers it is like upgraded Sixaxis isn't it? ;)

Flower, Blas Factor, Savage Moon, Folklore, PS3 Version of Dark Sector, HS, WarHawk, Super Rub O' Dub (yes i own this lulz), and so many more. So YES its still a great little bonus, BUT this so called "Sixaxis" 2.0 seems to look like it'll replace normal sixaxis for some things, though Sixaxis will still be usable with many things to come Versus XIII aswell. |
That was first game that came to mind and it took like 20 posts for someone to mention it. That's sad.
Do you even have a DualShock 3?
It says Sixaxis right there on the controller next to DualShock 3.
It's called the Sixaxis Dualshock 3 and this conversation just took place right above your post.

The Webcam you said is the Playstation Eye... it's been out for a while now [5+ years?]
it was irrelevant from day 1. A panic move made by sony to counter the Wii mote (yeah that went well)
let's look at the Sixaxis impelmantion in games. You can node your Sackboy's head in LBP oooooh game changer indeed. You can move the back round menu in 3D in KZ2 !!!
it was never taking seriously from the beginning and I'm glad the developers are wise to that now and don't use it anymore for main control scheme like the GOW3 team just ditched the Idea

Nah, it's just a gimmick now. Using it to balance over logs in Uncharted? What a pointless act. Noding your head in LBP? Guiding arrows in Heavenly Sword? Guiding the Glaive in DS? That's pretty much as pointless as it comes, adding nothing to the gameplay. It's pretty much added for the sake of having a type of motion control. It was okay at first when it had a certain "oooooohhhh" factor to it, but that's been lost. |
Guiding arrows in Heavenly Sword was the funnest shit. I don't know what you are talking about. Guiding the arrows with the joystick wouldn't be nearly as fun.
Also Socom uses the sixaxis well. It allows your to lean out from behind cover without having to press any buttons. That allows you to use your fingers for other things like shooting and aiming and moving. It also gives you better control of how much you peak out as opposed to just pressing a button.
