Wow. He wants them to sell the only profitable thing?

Whenever this subject comes up, people immediately tell Sony to get rid of Sony Ericsson. Do you realize that Sony Ericsson has been much more profitable than the gaming division in recent years?
Anyway, Sony will need some cash soon I think, so they will need to sell something.

Samsung currently makes the best tv's. Especially LCD'S. They are beautiful and the picture looks doubly so. The prices are not cheap although they don't overprice like sony. Hence, why they're the leaders in hdtv's right now. They currently make the best bluray player, make the second best lcd tv, sony has a better one but it cost $2250 more yet doesn't look $2250 better. More like $100 better at best. Aside from this model (highest one) sony and samsung tvs only have a few hundred dollars between them. How is sony anymore luxurious than samsung, especially since samsung tvs now look better than sonys tvs overall.
Besides, samsung could buy sony. Samsung is an insanely huge company, I believe their bigger than Microsoft. This is because of their shipbuilding division and their construction division which builds scyscraper office buildings and luxury residential buildings.
I only pledge my aliegance to Sony because of the excellent games . If the 1st party studios go , so do i.
I think Sony has to get a good balance between survival and long term performance , they've still got the competition to worry about when they get out of the hole that they are in.

and someone didn't read the OP.

Im interested to know how the Music end of Sony (BMG?) is doing. Music sales for big companies have been slumping greatly with the advent of MP3s and digital distribution. More and more bands are promoting their music directly, selling from their online stores, etc.
I'd imagine that it might not be a bad sector to back out of.

You obviously did not read the OP cause this is not a sony doom thread..

Okay, so it's a "Sony is struggling and in great financial difficulty; they must take drastic action" thread.
Same difference.
I hope that article isnt suggesting killing off Sony pictures.. thats idiotic.

No one would buy a shitheap like Sony-Ericcson in this economy. Sony is in a desparate position because of the mistakes Kutagari made with the PS3. His hubris cost tens of thousands their jobs and may cost Sony much, much more.
