Say Wii Fit sells 200K/week for that period (that's pessimistic). That leaves it at 7.2M for the year so far. Wii Fit has a 7.200.000 lead over Wii Sports Resort (for the year)

WSR has 4.5 months of sales. There's no way it's going to sell 13M in that period. Heck, even beating Mario Kart Wii (around 8-9 million) should be tough.

 

 

 

I believe so, yes.

I think Wii Fit Plus will be out late September/early October and Wii Fit will slow down rapidly, why buy Wii Fit if Wii Fit Plus has every exercise? So I think Wii Sports Resort can sell 10 Million this year and I don't think any other game will do that.

Just like Wii Sports ... The First Million people bought a Wii thinking it would be this new revolution that Nintendo promised, and then when they realized that playing involved waggle and the system didn't have HD graphics they abandoned the Wii in favour of HD consoles. This is why the Wii never broke 5 Million sales, and was a distant third in this generation. Right?

it came with EVERY wii, so if every wii owner bought resort, itd be a tie

no way it wins

course im buyin it first day ;)



Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I don't see how this is possible. If Nintendo does include WSR in a bundle with the Wii I would think it would be to keep the Wii's price from falling.

Think about it:
Wii + WiiMote + Nunchuck + Wii Sports = $250

3-4 Years Later
Wii + WiiMote + WM+ + Nunchuck + Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort = $250

Adding WSR and WM+ but removing Wii Sports doesn't help the value much, but just adding in WSR and the WM+



Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

What they should do is update to include both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort+motion. That would be a great bundle. Both for the price of one.

Sales for the United States. I am going for a prediction for Wii Sports Resort. Here we go. 1st Weeks sales will be 1,500,000. I really believe that it will be that big. I for one plan on getting it.

If you count Wii Sports as the best "Selling" game of all time, then no.

If you not, then it has a shot... possibly.

If it's bundled with the Wii it has a chance. If it isn't then it has no chance. It may beat every other game that wasn't bundled with a console though I think Wii Play is going to get that title. If not for Wii Fit Plus Wii Fit would have been the highest ever non-console bundled game. As it is I think it will be Wii Play>Wii Fit>NSMB DS> Mario Kart Wii>GTA SA>Wii Sports Resort>Wii Fit Plus.

OP: that is far - fetched to say the least. No it will not surpass WS or Wii Fit and may not even pass MKWii for that matter.
