UPDATED! FFII TO FFVII SPIN OFFS , MORE COMING SOON
UPDATED FFX - FFXII SPIN OFFS , MORE COMING SOON! , on and my 2000th post!! woot!
So some people know that i've been collecting final fantasy games since awhile, so today imma waste a couple of hours to do a quick impressions and recommend a couple of songs for each and every game, let us begin!
you should read while listening to the main theme, so you wont get bored

Recommended Platform : Sony PSP
Quick Impressions : Well what can i say? , the game that started it all, you start as four nameless "Warriors of Light" trying to help restore the world from Chaos and Evil, you get to choose each character's name and class from the start, this game is fairly short, though its pretty difficult as early in the game it forces you to have atleast 99 potions to survive a dungeon. but it is very enjoyable so you wont feel like it is forcing you alot.
Recommended?: Every RPG fan should play this game
Listen To : The Battle Theme, Town , Chaos Temple , Underwater Temple

Recommended Platform: Sony PSP
Quick Impressions : if you think this is anyway like the first one , you are completly WRONG ,your characters are now named, and each have their own backstory, but maybe the biggest diffrence between this and the first and the thing that you either love or hate is that the leveling up system doesn't exist, but instead you get to level up your abilites as you use them more, you DO need to have a healer in the party so you have to cast the cure spell over and over.
Recommended? : If you hate the Level System then No , but if you are okay with it then Yes
Listen To : Rebel Army , The battle Theme , The Promised Land

Recommended Platform : Nintendo DS
Quick Impressions : This game is the first in the series to let you choose your own jobs at any time , you get to unlock new jobs and then after you use them often you get to level them up with let you gain new abilites, the original version had 4 nameless heroes (Onion Knights) but the DS version had Luneth and his friends instead.
Recommended? : Yes, its highly enjoyable
Listen To: Eternal Wind, Battle Theme , Dark Cloud

Recommended Platform : Nintendo DS if you want colorful graphics and voice overs , Sony PSOne version if you want the more serious tone.
Quick Impressions :the first game in the series to be linear and focuses on the characters, every character is named , and every character got their own job (Cecil is a paladin , Kain is a dragoon ..ect) , with very likeable characters some people call this game the best in the series, i can see why since it got alot of things done right.
Recommended?: Yes.
Listen To: The Dreadful Fight (Four Emperors),Theme Of Love, Battle Theme

Recommended Platform : Nintendo Gameboy Advance (Though it doesnt have CGI Scenes in the PSone version)
Quick Impressions : my very first Final Fantasy Game, you play as a weirdly named character Buttz (Bartz) , and your faithful chocobo together you discover a metiore and meet up with other friends (not going to spoil anything) , though one thing about this game... ITS FREAKING HARD!, the bosses are VERY unfair and it will make you gridn alot.
Recommended? : HELL NO if your newcomer , HELL YES if you want to get raped by the difficulty.
Listen To: Four Hearts , Battle Theme , In search of Light.

Recommended Platform: Sony PsOne (though the GBA version contains extra gamemode)
Quick Impressions: Everything about this game is great,i completly fell inlove with the character, the music, and the villians, some people say this is the best game ever made, i cannot disagree with that, the game have no "Main Character" something that will be done with FFXIII , every character have their own storyline and every storyline is quite deep.
Recommended? : Every gamer should buy this game and complete it atleast once.
Listen To : Terra's Theme , Dancing Mad , Aria di Mezzo Carattere (search on youtube for Final Fantasy VI - Opera for the best version)

Recommended Platform: well the only difference that the PC and PSone version is that the PC version character had a line on their faces that resembles a mouth, so i recommend downloading it on the PSN store and play it on PSP
quick Impressions: Some say this is the best game ever made, to me it is the most overrated game ever made, not that its a bad game mind you, but the fanbase behind it are the biggest fanbase in existance (Miles more than halo fanbase) , the game is great, but it really overshadows the other games in it's popularity. the characters feel like regular teenagers and perhaps thats why they are loved alot, the main character is every fangirl's wetdream, and my personal "second most annoying final fantasy male character."
Recommended? : yes.
Listen To : J-E-N-O-V-A , One Winged Angel , Jenova Absolute

Recommended Platform : PsOne.
Quick Impressions: this game had the best graphics on the PSone and it made everyone's jaw to drop, but the gameplay of this game is alotta fun, as it places you in a school where you interact with others and take missions and perhaps sidequests, the main character however (to me) is the most annoying male character ever in final fantasy (yes he beats Cloud) , but Whatever!, no seriously Whatever!.
Recommended?: Yes.
Listen To: Force Your Way, The Man With The Machine Gun , Liberi Fatali

Recommended Platform: PsOne
Quick Impressions: when this game got released, alot of people got disapointed , but the older Fans loved it, as it is basicly the encarnation of the older final fantasy games (1-6) , the characters feel more colorful than 7,8 and more cartoony, to me this game holds a very special place in my heart , and the minute i start playing the intro , i cannot help but to get teary, lots of nostalgia , not because its old but because it captures all the magic of the Older final fantasy games.
Recommended?: Yes, if you a final fantasy fan, No, if you a final fantasy VII Fanboy.
Listen To : The Place i'll Return to Someday (A Place to Call Home) , your not alone! , Vamo'alla Flamenco

Recommended Platform: PS2
Quick Impressions : first thing you'll notice... What? no world map? , yes exactly , though this game lacks the world map , this is by no mean a bad game, it is the first to have voice overs, and the first to have heavy industrial song (The Otherworld), and to alot of PS2 owners it is the best game ever, very deep storyline, enjoyable gameplay, colorful and beautiful scenes, amazing soundtrack, loveable characters, this game have it all.
Recommended?: Yes.
Listen To: To Zanarkand, Seymour Battle Theme , Tidus's Theme.

Recommended Platform : PC.
Quick Impressions: Final Fantasy ... Online?! , yes its a final fantasy MMO, straight off the bat, this game is NOT for WoW fans , it is for true MMORPG fans and nowhere near as friendly as World of Warcraft, you get to buy your character and costumize him/her , explore the world while playing online how cool is that? , well not alot of people liked that idea, infact alot of Final Fantasy Fans just ignored this one.
Recommended? : if your a WoW fan then No , if your a new MMORPG player than No , if you love MMOs then Yes.
Listen To : Airship , Ronfaure Theme , Vana'diel March

Reccommended Platform: PS2
Quick Impressions: this game didn't have a main character (like FFVI) and the battle system felt like an MMO (kinda like XI) , the world map is a seemless openworld with no random encounters as you can see the enemies you're battleing without entering the battle screen, you control one character at a time and the other characters are Gambit controlled, the storyline and atmosphere felt like Final Fantasy Tactics, as it is based on the same world, while the main character is nowhere as intresting as the other characters he is with to be honest.
Recommended? : No , if you dont like grinding, Yes if you like grinding.
Listen To : Esper Battle , Symphonic Peom (Hope) , Rabanastre Lowtown
Spin offs
Final Fantasy II
"FFII: Nightmare Labyrinth"
Type : Novel
Final Fantasy IV
Platform : WiiWare
Quick Impressions : This is a downloadable game , that tells the story of the heroes after seventeen years, each "Tale" or chapter is downloaded seperately, and each costs 300 points (but the main chapter costs 800) , it goes back into being a 2-D sprite instead of 3-D like in DS, it is pretty pricy for a spin off if you ask me, but if your a FFIV fan you cant miss on this one.
Recommended?: only if you are a FFIV Fan.
FFV
Type : Anime
FFVII
Platform: Cell phone
Quick Impressions : this game really reminds me of the first few metal gear games mixed with action RPG elements , though i can't tell you anything about the story since its all japanese and i cant understand it xD, but it is basicly Six years before the events of FFVII, and you play as the turks, thats probably all i can say about it.
Recommended? : only if you know japanese and want to play on your cellphone.
Listen to: Desperate Crisis , Mission , Theme of Elfe
Platform : Sony PSP
Quick Impressions: it starts Seven years before the events of FFVII , you play as Zack Fair who is a SOLDIER who works with shinra, the game plays alot like Kingdom hearts, but with a system called "Digital Mind Wave" or "DMW" for short , its basicly a Slot machine that rolls while in battle and it consumes SP , if the slot stops with identical pictures the player gains a special ability, a summon ...ect.
Recommended? : yes, you dont have to be a FFVII fan to enjoy this one.
Listen to : The Price of Freedom , The World's Enemy , On the Verge of Assault
Type : Novel
Platform : Sony PS2
Quick Impressions: Well , lets just say i was surprised how people hated this game, i finished it and enjoyed it very much , though i must say that scientist girl (forgot what her name is) , feels like a last second add on character, the gameplay however is very good, you get to fully costumize your guns (though i always use the long barrel) and level up your abilites , the storyline is average but is enjoyable.
Recommended?: Yes , it is enjoyable even if you havent played any final fantasy game before.
Listen To : Longing , Calm Before the Storm , Fearful Happening
Platform: Cell Phone
Quick Impressions : the gameplay is the same as the one above but you play a new chapter.
Recommended?: Nope, not worth it tbh.
Platform: Cell Phone
Quick Impressions : its the snowboarding mini game you find in FFVII, nothing new.
Recommended?: Nope
"On the Way to a Smile: Episode of Denzel"
Type : OVA , it is featured on the special edition FFVII Advent children complete. (but in all seriousness, who cares about Denzel? , i know i don't)
Type : OVA
Type : Animated movie
FFX
Platform : Ps2
Quick Impressions : ever wonder what happens if you combine Charlies Angels with FFX ? , well BAM there it is! , Final Fantasy X-2 is all female playable characters , Riku , Yuna and Paine all have what they call DressSphere, it is a "Magical Dress" you collect throughout the game that changes your girl's abilities and changes the way you battle, while the battle have been changed from turn based to active turn based , and the storyline is dummed down to a simple mission based style, and side missions that you can complete to get different endings, all and all, the game is enjoyable and lighthearted, and better yet brings out the girl in you.
Recommended? : No if you think you're too manly for it and want to play as manly characters such as tidus.
Listen To : Vegnagun Starting , Real Emotions , 1000 words
FFXI
All expansions

FFXII
Platform: DS
Quick Impressions : Ever wonder how a RTT (Real Time Tactics) game would work on a Final Fantasy game?, Final Fantasy XII : Revenant wings, is a highly enjoyable title, you play as Vaan, who finally get to be a sky pirate (and finaly got interesting) and penelo , you get to contol your own ship as you descover a hidden world far above the skies , which is the santuary of a noble winged race called the Aegyl, the gameplay is level based, everything is controlled with the stylus, you gain the ability to summon monsters and you can only summon them if you have captured a crystal (kinda like when you capture a base in Valkyria Chronicles), and each summon costs you points.
Recommended? : Yes its highly enjoyable
Listen to : the music here is the same as FFXII, but a bit more DS-ish.
more soon , Final Fantasy Tactics series
