I would like to discuss the possible LTD sales of the PSP, I'm just gonna use official shipped numbers from the manufacturer in this thread, with that said, we know that it has sold 50 million units as of January 2009 and the GBA is at 81.47 million according to the latest numbers. So the PSP would need to sell an additional 31.5 million units in order to pass the GBA.
Now, the PSP has been revived, but price is still a major issue, had Sony priced the GO at $199 and dropped the 3000 to $139, then I would have no doubt that it would outsell the GBA, but as it is, I think it will be tough, they sold 14 million PSPs last FY and are estimating 14 or 15 million this year. so that leaves another 16 or 17 million, I think we need the PSP GO 2000 with touch screen functionality, otherwise it won't outsell the GBA, it'll be close though....
