This great proff that FFXIV was not a bombshell announcement like many PS3 fanboys would like it to be. I think the journalist reaction pretty much summs how many fans of the FF series will feel.

It's right that it is exclusive to the PS3 (what Jack tretton said) but not that it is solely exclusive to the PS3 (in the way that only the PS3 will get it). Since many people on this site consider pc/ 360 games to be 360 exclusives, then this is also a PS3 exclusive in that regard. On the other hand, you can't say that Jack Tretton announced it as an exclusive, since the little video shows that he said "PS3 is the only console you can play FF XIV on".

Your post makes it even funnier that SE said they are looking into the XBox 360 version

What Jack Tretton said was this:

"Playstation 3 will be the only console you'll be able to play Final Fantasy XIV when it launches in 2010"

Does that mean that a 360 version is possible after the PS3 and PC versions are released? yes, it does... The press was the one that got wrong the phrase...

No my friend.....The fail goes to the people on this site that always say that when a game on Xbox 360 is also on PC it's not exclusive.....And Last I checked SE did not say a Xbox version was out of the question..In fact it sounded like they were hinting it...My point was to exposed how much fail the "List War" threads on this site have...Now that PS3 shares a tittle with PC and the Xbox version is yet to be annouced it's ok to say "Console Exclusive"

This in no way is towards you outlaw....It's towards the people that claim when a game is on one console and PC it's not exclusive and that they will be getting the PC version when the Console happens to be the 360.....

Also....Jack from sony said it was exclusive to PS3...Yet SE said that they are looking at all possibilties...And Clearly it was in regards to the Xbox version....I think SE would of confirmed it to stay on PS3/PC if it was never comming to Xbox 360...but instead they did what capcom did with Lost Planet 2

WHen a third party annouces a game during our conference it is defenetly exclusive.We are not like our competitor....

Then SE annouces it for PC and says that they are lloking into a Xbox version......I'm sorry if I fail at pointing the finger at the people saying that and Xbox360/pc game is not exclusive...But if you look well on this site you will find the threads

Nice spin, but I think their reaction was one of surprise, rather than the negative stuff you suggest.

i am sure if this game were announced exclusive for Xbox360, many people would see it as a huge victory for Xbox360 and the "online" part would play a much smaller role in the discussion

Don't you mean more Hate Mongering towards SE?...And Xbox owners would MEh for the most part...Since SE barely has a fanbase among Xbox 360 owners...and the little folliwing it has can be reflected among the IU,TLR and Star Ocean buyers....

I don't doubt it would of been a Fanboy Granade.....But for the most part it would PS3 fanboys declaring their hate for SE and saying that they sold out..I'm surprised I have not seen any ps3 fanboys doing this on this site after FFXIII was annouced for Xbox 360
