Forums - Microsoft - 10,000+ Against Left 4 Dead 2 (Update)

14,000 may seem like a lot to me, but, really, how significant a number is it? Anyone know how many active members Steam has?

Around the Network

I bet at least half of those 10000 end up buying the game.

They wanted new content, how much newer content can you get than a full new game

I have a dilema with steam but right now I'm watching a baseball game. I'll come back and explain hopefully someone can help me out.

Its now at 14 000+...

4000 new members in 24 hours... looks like its picking up "steam" (pun!!)

Who knows, if those numbers keep up, they could have over 40,000 members by end of week.

lol tp put it in perspective, more people bought L4D this week than the people that have signed that boycott.

Reminds me of the "Save HD-DVD" attempt...lol.  I'm curious as to how those votes are being QA'ed...Seems like lots of people, who don't play games on the 360, or PC can create an account and post there name.  Since both XBL and Steam does tracking of achievements, it would serve as a nice method to QA those signatures.

I think Valve should be careful not to alienate the hardcore. They're the ones who help you during tough times (Gamecube, PS3, etc)

ROFLOL...Hardcore gamers had better not abandon Valve, or we might end up with overhyped shooters that fail to perform!

Are you reffering to Killzone 2? Because that was, and still is, fun. Do you even own it? I don't pass judgements on Halo 3 (or any other Xbox 360 exclusive) because I NEVER PLAYED them.

I also don't need to show you the Mountain Dew cans for Halo 3 do I, if you're talking about Killzone 2 being one of the most hyped up games?

ROFLMAO...I'm just talking about these 10K people posting this bullshit on the internet, when EVERYBODY who I play L4D (Just played tonight as well on my PC...that's right, I own both PC and 360) are pumped for L4D2...We've yet to even see the cost model for the PC vs 360 implementation, and people are raggin on Valve...WTF...as if Valve hasn't EARNED their fukking respect...I bought the PC version for $25...WHAT....r u kidding me...and people want to compaint?  I'm unofficially speaking for Valve to say to those 10K people...Eat a Dick, you punks!

Since you're using anecdotal evidence, there's no proof that the people who are happy about the sequel (and the converse of course) are in the majority.

All people have the right to an opinion, and should be polite to everyone, and not be rude to others just because they're holding an different opinion than yours. Really, why are people getting so passionate as to insult each other?

"you people"?

If you're going to quote, make sure to quote properly, "[you] people", not "you people", since I didn't say "you". And what I was reffering to by people was, those on both camps who are either bashing or defending Valve by rudely insulting each other personally.

wow i dont care its just $60. Honestly the game has been awesome and i will gladly welcome some awesome new improvements whether or not a new game is released or not. Personally i dont care

I wish I had 60 bucks *tear* (Fallout 3, Bioshock, Dualshock 3 controller, Bluetooth PS3 headset, and PSN/DLC stuff)

This pretty much sums up the predicament Valve is in. Most x360 owners have no problem paying $60 for a relatively minor update. Combine that with the immense success of this game on x360, coupled with Microsoft's opposition to free DLC, and you're able to see the current situation a little clearer. PC gamers who've taken Valve's ongoing support for granted may have to adjust to a more console-oriented Valve in the coming years.
