Did you play God of War II? And are you sure you were watching the right video?

That looked way better than any last gen game, and better than the majority of games this gen. Also, the Cyclops... the flying segment, Helios' head, Cestus...this is all new. Perhaps you wanted Qwark in a tutu instead of Kratos? Or did you want Kratos to get lost and end up in the Mushroom Kingdom?

How much variation was there between, say, Halo 2 and Halo 3, or Gears and Gears 2?

Considering it looks better than most games released so far this cosnole generation, I wouldnt be suprised if your eye sight is weak

The video link im watching now makes it look a lot worse. The only thing epic about the game to me are the cutscenes. Otherwise it looks average. God of War 1/2 were impressive. This one feels mediocre. Seriously I cannot see anything that looks like more than a suped up PS2 game in that linked video.

Edit: In case its the video, do you recomend a better one?

I blame Austrian internet (after all, New Zealand is right next to Austria, so I figure you guys share an internet).

Anyway, until Sony decides that we are worthy of a PSN trailer, GT *shudder* is the best we have. Why do they call it "HD" when it's clearly SD with a bigger widget?

I was watching the one linked here. I was expecting to be slightly impressed at least considering its a hyped PS3 exclusive. But nothing about the game stood out as impressive aside from the brutality.

I liked the changes in Gears 2 the most, I played Halo 2 on PC so there wasn't a significant difference for me.

God of War 3 looks freaking spectacular graphics wise. It is not a PS2 game, and i'm pretty sure it will be better then 95% of the games this generation.
