Forums - Microsoft - Turn 10 on Forza 3: "No Game Cometes With Us"

from everything i have seen from both of these games, forza 3 is leading gt5 by a decent margin i think. in quality forza 3 is pushing the evelope and gt5 isnt as of yet. in sales i think gt5 will beat forza 3 , but in terms of overall product i dont think it will beat forza 3.

That's still hypocrisy Munkeh. You said you don't support "idiots like that" and Sony has spewed some the most arrogant and flat out ridiculous statements in gaming history. Only Hiroshi Yamauchi, owner and former president of Nintendo, can rival the stuff several different Sony executives have said this generation. Not only that, game creators in general seem to frequently say similar things when interviewed. Modesty seems to be the less common stance taken when developers are asked about their game titles.

As I have said, yes Sony have been arrogant, but they have had reason to be so, they had crushed the competition in the last 2 gens, but this year, how much arrogance did you see from Sony? There was a bit of, only possible on playstation, and in the case that is certainly true, the Naughty Dog engine would not work on 360

Did any other people come up on stage and just go on about how they have made the greatest game ever for 10 minutes

Turn 10 is trying too hard, PD already got this, 1) GT5 looks better, 2) GT5 is obviously gonna utsell Forza 3 in the biggest racing region and in JP at least 2-1, 3) GT5 will outsell Forza 3 in America based on the NASCAR license alone 4) It's getting annoying so Turn 10, just STFU

Sales have nothing to do with quality, and since neither game has released, but you so blatantly claim that GT5 will absolutely look better(both games will look completely realistic, and it will be like comparing apples and oranges. Only technical experts will determine which one looks better), he can claim(and he knows more than you about it) that Forza 3 will PLAY better, which he did. I bet he thinks you are annoying as well.

GT5 will be better and play better as well, he doesn't even know me, so how could he think that? I think you're annoying.

He doesn't know how GT5 will play by the way and going by history, GT5 >>> Forza 3, but why am I wasting my time with you anyways? If they put your favorite game on a Sony console it would automatically suck.

Forza 3 has full tyre deformation. If GT5 doesnt have this it loses straight away as best sim on console. Go and study what that means for the handling of the car. And no I'm just referring to tyre wear. Deformation during a corner with different tyres affects handling. Like Zen said, Forza 3 is taking things forward.

If we are talking about realism, take a look at that video. Watch at 25 seconds, a car goes into reverse for 2 seconds without loosing any speed at all. And then at 47 seconds were a car does a 720 degree spin between two cars. I think the developers have gone for a more arcadey style compared to Forza 2.

Neutral?

And the driving in the video is team Blackjack, if you google for them you caan find FM2 videos with similar driving.

I remember when NFL 2K was coming to PS2/Xbox and they made similar remarks about Madden. This is an apples/oranges scenario, but we all know how that turned out......

There's nothing wrong with developers being proud of their creation. In fact, I applaud that. It's just that there's no guarantee that what they think is innovative and awesome won't be considered cumbersome and bland by the consumer. Time will tell, though.

Yeah NFL2K5 was the better game and EA locked up the NFL license exclusively preventing any further competition. Sad thing is that NFL2K5 is 5 years old and it still has better commentary/presentation.

lol @ everyone saying GT5 will walk all over Forza 3.

Here is something to consider people...Sony is in the 3rd year of the PS3...still no true GT5 title. This is a huge sales loss for Sony as GT5 is pretty much the only system seller they have exclusive.

Microsoft and Turn 10 has been able to make 2 Forza games this gen...so obviously it doesn't take that long to make one of these games.

So the reasons to why GT5 isn't out yet are:

1. Polyphany Digital is lazy and like to work really slow, despite their parent company(sony) bleeding money and needing their game badly. (not likely)

2. They saw what Forza 2 did, and went scrambling back to the drawing board because that product had more inovation and better features.

Come on, use your head fanboys... Im not saying GT5 won't be ebtter, but its obvious that the game is being delayed until they can figure out how to make it better than Forza.

Agree 100%, forza 3 rules...

Exactly.  Sony is going to end up buying the rights to every car ever.  Then, all other games will have to use generic Ridge Racer cars.  Exactly the point I wanted to make.  Plus Madden wound up selling and reviewing better.

I am getting both......enough said.
