I don't see SSX Blur in the VGcharts list. its release date was 27 of February, am I right ?

This is what I got from the numbers: (correct me if I'm wrong) From VG charts Jan and Feb data in America) Jan. Wii -485,000/5 =97,000 a week PS3-273,000/5 =54,600 a week Feb. Wii - 379,250/4 =94,812 a week roughly PS3 - 133,750/4 =33,437 a week roughly Difference? Wii: -2,188 a week PS3: -21,163 a week Sales dropped for both consoles in Feb.

At this rate the PS3 - Wii sales would need to do a total flip for 3 or 4 months for Nintendo Wii to be considered in trouble of "burning" Cost as you put it is not an ultimate factor, it -is- a big factor but so is value. If something is a good value people will buy it despite the cost. If the PS3 indeed was some monster that could not be contained the price tag.. well wouldn't contain it, at least not as much. I think a big factor we need to look at here also is a LOT of people saw and still do see Sony as arrogant and ignorant, something Nintendo did during N64 and look what happened there.. Brand name never means much, consumers will always jump ship for the value. Sorry that was a little long winded.
great post with good arguments too many people take the next gen war to serious ... especially sony fans because since iam here i get the feeling that they can't live with it that many people like the wii - i don't see the problem ? i like nintendo but i anyway try to be neutral because each console has something positive.

I have one BIG doubt FOr the PS3 numbers the NA aggregate of vgcharts is made of simply adding the US and Canada data given by NPD .Allright . But what happens with the X360 and Wii data .....it is WAY HIGHER than adding the data from those two sources ?For example the X360 sold 228K in US and 12K in Canada for a total of 240K....whre does vgcharts come with the extra 20K sales ??

Good point so does that mean nobody wants it or nobody can afford it, either way it's not getting sold so it's bad for HD.(at least not as much sales as NON-HD)

wow.. this is awesome. I would like to state a few comments in this mosh pit of a topic 1) I had predicted (in the prediction league) that the 360 would beat the PS3 by 80k.. 360 beat it by 100k!! OMG xbox gods rejoice and bring out the champagne 2) For all those saying "it's only February it doesn't matter if the PS3 did so bad" - Your lying to yourself, there's only 12 months in a year, and all the other consoles did ok!! 3) If it happens every month.. then it's a pattern and I'm referring to the front page estimates. A couple people (there's already been numerous threads on this) have noticed that every time that NPD numbers come the Wii numbers get reduced. Has far as I remember, that's happened in the last 3 NDP releases. Maybe it's time to rethink the Wii estimates and rejink that magic formula. 4) This is the age of the 360, for all those who say " oh wait, PS3 games are going to come out".. the 360 just as has many great games coming out 5) Will the 360 get a price cut? - Nah, they're greedy buggers, they're going to get as much money has they can until the PS3 cuts it's price first. And even then, I'm worried that M$ will keep the same cost, just to see if they still outsell Sony. 6) Software - Crackdown for the Win!?! - Wow, those are great numbers.. I doubt it sold any consoles, but honestly didn't think Crackdown was going to do over 300K. Also love the fact that no PS3 titles made the top 10... Now some may be asking yourself what the hell are PS3 owners playing.. well I'll tell you... They're playing BLU RAY's!!! How many Sony Next Generation Consoles where sold in February - ZERO !!! How many Sony Next Generation Blu Ray where sold in February - 127,321 ?? Seriously, if I was developing a PS3 exclusive right now, I would be pissing my pants. I'd be worried that I wouldn't have a job after the game is released and that no one buys it. I WOULD JUMP SHIP!! and make it multiplatform. I can't wait till next month!

Well it was difficult for PS3 games to buy many games as the only games released in february were VF5 and F1 at the end of the month .If this trend continues in march when many games are being released then it would be something to worry about .Still ,the numbers for the PS3 present a ratio equal to the Wii ....and the Wii has included all the Wiisports bundled so we could argue the PS3 ratio is way better .Even Wii play casts some shadow as it is a game-pad combo .

Why - do you know for a fact that NPD calculates a bundled game into their tie ratios? I could understand Wii Play because it's a separate purchase, but why do you assume that NPD would include Wii Sports? I have yet to even see them report that game in their software sales charts. Me thinks you're making a bad assumption...
They don't count Movies when they're bundled with something (example Casino Royale with the PS3 in the UK). It would probably be the same with games.
