Forums - Microsoft - PGR4 Likely To Be The Last?

Project Gotham Racing 4 is the fifth tile in the racing series which has seen huge sucess on the Xbox, and the Xbox 360.

However the future of this exclusive title remains in doubt, as it's developer Bizzare Creations was recently purchased by Activision.

The developer Bizzare Creations have announced that PGR4 will be their last game produced for Microsoft.

"We're no longer tied to just one platform," Ward announces on the official Bizarre website, adding that "future titles can be on whatever [platform] we please".

It's clear that PGR will not be going cross-platform however, as Microsoft owns the rights to PGR. Which could possibly mean the series being continued in the future under the direction of a different developer.

And your point is?

Microsoft could easily allow Activision to use the rights to PGR provided the game made is exclusive to the 360. Activision would be foolish not to take them up on it considering that PGR is already an established IP and a proven seller on the system.

Of course Bizzare is working on a racing game as we speak that is not PGR4 so who knows maybe their new series might be a hit across all platforms. Either way it's likely that the 360 will see another racing game from them.

And thats no problem Legend11. That means 360 gets and IP and a new IP from Bizzare.

Not rocket science...

Not to be too much of a fanboy, but Wii could really use good racing games, especially a simulation-style one.

you mean simulations like Cooking Mama and My Sims arent enough....haha kidding.

Seriously though, youre right but i fear that the snowball may have been pushed off the hill and the 3rd party support will continue to be what we have been seeing. (not necessarily a bad thing as far as sales go).

Hehe I have no fear of that, but I agree the Wii could use a sim racer.  Not for me, since I don't really play sim racers (Mario Kart is about the closest thing to racing I enjoy), but to add some more diversity to the software lineup.

I think you should hold your comments and not say irrevlant stuff. Now that not rocket science.....

This could mean that the next PGR can be crap and that their will be another good multiplatform racer. = Right?
