I hope you can just turn the option off, getting the screen to ask if you want to continue playing or let the game take over basically is an other way of saying you suck watch how it is supposed to be done :P.

I love this. If you can make a game easier for people who don't want it to be hard and harder for people who don't want it to be easy, I'm all for it. If my mom wants this to be an easy romp through the mushroom kingdom and I want bonecrushingly difficult thwomps barreling down on me, and we can both have it? Thug life.
My Games of 2011:
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Super Mario 3D Land
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Nothing wrong with this as long as it's not mandatory. I won't use it unless there's a section I get completely pissed at after playing for hours, but I don't have a problem with it being there for others who don't game as much and just want to have fun.
It sounds very interested. I look forward to seeing how it is implemented. This certainly could make interesting but hard games fun for me.

Yeah. Great game to finish. So lovely to look at.

What are you talking about? Okami was quite easy to finish (on the Wii for sure, I did not play it on PS2). Nothing took more than 2-3 tries max.

Just remember, you don't have to use it.
But objecting to it is self-defeating since discouraging people in gaming means fewer games.
Think about it.

It was this type of system I thought Nintendo was going to announce (for Zelda Wii) when it demoed the Vitality Sensor.
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

If it were a "demo" mode, it would perhaps mean that the game shows you what you're supposed to do to progress, but doesn't actually do it. At least, i hope. Either way, something like that would be pretty cool, so long as the user used it in moderation. I sure as hell could have used something to show me what i was doing wrong with TD Bald Bull. Especially since there is generally a fairly significant gap between showing and doing. I really don't think Nintendo would completely jump into "games that play themselves" mode. |
Glad to know I'm not the only one having problems with that bastard!
OT: I think it's a great feature because developpers won't be afraid to make a level harder because they won't fear they'll scare away the casuals!

Of course it won't be mandatory... what would be the point of creating a level no one would ever play?
