*this is going to be a bit of a rant*

So I'm browsing the threads, some sites, and other gaming outlets and I notice a lot of "Woo Sony/MS won E3 and Nintendo sucked!" comments.  When most people asked why those people said "Cause Nintendo only shown sequels and rehashes" when these very same people were the ones going around singing the praises of GTA4, MGS4, RE5, and Fable II.  And it makes me wonder what does Nintendo really have to do to please these people, in all honestly as a gamer, I don't see how any of the conferences let anyone down this year, but to hate on Nintendo specifically is just plain retarded.

Last year there was a lot of whining about Nintendo forgot the core gamers, what did this year to counter it?  Metroid from Team Ninja, 2 pure platformer Mario games, Final Fantasy CC, KH 358, Golden Sun DS, along with a good list of third party games being promoted as well like The Conduit, Resident Evil Dark Side Chronicles, and Dead Space Extraction.  And even then they put in little bits for Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus to have those appeal to everyone games.

So in all honestly I don't really believe there is a single thing Nintendo could do to please these people, not even if all developers went to Nintendo and put their games on the platform someone would take issue with having to buy a Wii, as a gamer purely looking at games how could you be displeased with any showing this year?  Is the Nintendo hate stigma really that strong over the internet?

The broader the audience they try to appeal to, the more vocal a minority will hate them.

The stigma really isn't new, it happened when Nintendo tried to appeal to everyone last gen as well, I saw people put down the Nintendo 2004 conference when Zelda was announced, which was probably the loudest uproar I've ever heard in an E3 conference.

No Zelda. Apparently, Zelda is the only franchise Nintendo have, because suddenly that is the only thing anyone wants from Nintendo. Nevermind that we just got a 4-player Mario platformer, a sequel to one of the highest rated games of the gen, and a new entry into a franchise where pretty much every entry has been critically acclaimed, this time co-developed by a highly revered team, no less.

But there wasn't any Zelda Wii, so they lost. It's ridiculous.

Zelda is my all-time favorite franchise, but you don't hear me whining. Nintendo was fucking fantastic this year, and saying anything else probably means you had already written them off before the conference.

People insulting Nintendo shouldn't bother you Maxwell. I mean, to have all those haters, Nintendo's gotta be doing something right. Did we see this much hate for the gamecube? You just have to rise above the insults, and as long as your happy with your console, why should you give a damn what anyone else thinks?

Give away free Wii's with a new HD dongle, with free copies of Halo3 and MGSIV and a certificate signed by Iwata in his own blood confirming support from all major third party developers in the world.

I'm still not sure it would be enough.

Ugh Nintendo is probably the only of the big 3 that knows what they do and they are doing great so why they should listen to the moronic fanboys? I'd say they should keep doing their good work and ignoring those little dumbs.

I loved my Gamecube and my PS2, but even back then I saw the Gamecube hate, it's really uncalled for most of the time if you ask me, all these guys put in a lot of hard work to please everyone and you get a group together and they go trolling away.  Now when you have showings like Nintendo last year or Sony 2006 where some games just didn't work, or presented in an awful fashion it's more understandable. 

It's just that Sony could have an epic showing one year like many of the PS2 showings and the hate really wasn't there, Nintendo has equally epic and this hate comes from people whining just to be whining it seems. 

And FYI, I own everything but a 360 man :P (which will be solved soon enough when my friends 360 comes back from MS and I buy his temp 360 arcade he bought)
