Forums - Sony - new game on psp! Pokemo.... wait no Invizimals!

Not my type of game, but that doesn't look THAT bad...and for that matter there have been thousands of Pokemon ripoffs, this wouldn't be the first one nor the last one

On a side note, I wonder about the number of accidents and subsequent lawsuits that this game will cause if kids walk around the house looking at the PSP.

That game looks f'ing incredible, I'm preordering it and picking it up day 1.

wait wuh? seriously? i thought people will be all "Pokemon RIP OFFF!!!"

That's a plus for me. I love the Monster-raising RPG sub-genre (perfected in Dragon Warrior Monsters in my opinion), and if Pokemon's going to keep on refusing to innovate within it, somebody has to.

As nerdy and childish as the commercial is, this game sadly looks really fun. It probably won't fulfill on its potential but still...anybody remember the Monster Rancher (?) for PS1 where you created monsters from random CD's? This is what that calls to mind, and that was awesome.

Yeah, I remember doing that with my friends. We got all the games we had and "unlocked" monsters. We usually got the eye guy (no idea what his name was, but he was basically an eyeball with a tail and was yellow, or the penguin that could turn into a ball (moochi?). When I unlocked the wolf, I was so happy. He became my main monster. Damn, now I wanna go play Monster Rancher!

I had one friend who went online and downloaded custom CD images (this in the day of dial-up) that created the "ultimate monster", then burned them and used them for the game.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

does this mean U.S. camera release?

Interesting

Damn, now that's hardcore (and smart........we never thought about doing that at all.......and my friend used to download stuff all the time).

Umm, I think this looks freaking incredible.

"Like Pokémon, players can evolve their Invizimal then battle their friends and computer controlled opponents, casting spells by shaking the PSP, blowing into the device and drawing spell runes with an on-screen cursor."

Is that good enough?
