Forums - General Discussion - So who's going to win The NBA Finals?

Personally I was rooting for LeBron (along with millions of others I guess, but I'm a raptor fan so I need somethign fun to watch in the playoffs), but with him gone, I guess I'd like to see Rafer Alston get a ring, So I pick Orlando.

Not a Kobe fan since the Shaq fueding, but I like Jackson and Odom, but still.  They have nothing at the Point, and its a wash up front (tho howard could go insane, so could pau), but they have good defense at the 2, and a star at the 3.  Should be 4-2 Orlando.

Anyone else got an opinion?

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Orlando will steamroll over Las Angleles.

Los Angeles will not win a championship without (until he retires)

I hope Orlando.

It means Lebron will be more likely to stay in cleveland.

Also... i honestly hate Kobe Bryant. I think he's way overrated. I think it's ridicilious that people place him above the logo and Magic Johnson.

Heck I think you're crazy if you'd take Kobe in his prime over Shaq in his prime when building your team.

Kobe is just boosted up because their are so few great shooting guards because it's the easiest position in the NBA.  More talented guys are shifted to the Point or SF.

MJ, West and Kobe are exceptions.  SG is for your one dimensional players who can only score.

Though I do expect the Lakers to win. They have better wing players then Lebron did.

Orlando killed the Lakers in the regular season but that was because of Jameer Nelson busting up Fisher. They won't be quite as dynamic and if Dwight Howard gets in foul trouble... the magic are in trouble.

It's not really just Kobe.  It's any star... or really any guard or small foward who is fast enough to charge into a guy before the guy has his feet set.

While dominate big men get the "Shaq" rules.  Where it isn't a foul unless you look hurt or fall down.  Which if your as big as Shaq or Dwight Howard... that ain't happenin often.

Though I will admit in years past the lakers did get some questionable refereeing in their favor a lot... this didn't seem to be the case this year.

^^^

im not sure why they havent gotten the same calls, you are right about the lakers this year. the finals is the ultimate test of that tho i guess.

they will definetly have to attack dwight, and throw dwight at the line when close. hedo tho is the guy they should fear the most, i was slow to admit he was good since sacremento, but this playoff hes won me over, and killed all the teams ive been rooting for.

thinking about this more, i just cant see jackson not winning the coaching matchup. some say hes had stars etc, but i really think hes a good coach. hes going to be harder for SVG than say rivers (he has had good players) and brown, who i never like on offense, lebron creates the highlights.
