Wii Motion Plus is out now, Sony's wands perhaps by xmas 2010 if you're lucky, they need to make some games for it before they can release it.
The biggest killer for Sony is that it's just an accessory and it now suffers from chicken vs egg syndrome. No one will buy it unless there are games with motion controls and no one will develop games based on motion controls unless people buy the wands. Sony will get some 1st parties onto it, but they won't get 3rd party support until they see what the sales are like.
Nintendo has motion control built into every game, motion plus will be just added accuracy, it also has a killer app in Wii Sports Resort plus it's a cheap enough accessory that it can be bundled with other games like Tiger Woods & Red Steel 2
The same is not true for the Sony product, people will probably need to pay almost the cost of a new Wii to get the Sony motion controls added to their already expensive PS3.
Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience

I totally agree with you on this, it's impossible for SOny to catch up right now..it's too little too late..last year they had a chance..
but this year..nope..sorry..Nintendo won the battle last time, Sony and MS are just too late to do anything against the NINTENDOMINATION
@Viper. Mine has 5 on each side.... Although there is a slightly bigger gap between the outer 2 than the central 3.
------
As far as my limited understanding of the Sony system goes:
For actual motion control, neither WM+ nor the wands is more accurate than the other without going into superhuman perception.... the difference is WP+ does need occassional callibration for certain things.
However... the wands are still lacking a camera in them unlike the Wii remote.... so as they rely on the PSeye seeing them, they are certainly not as good for pointing functions.... menus would be fine if they have big buttons (like PSeye can do without the wand) but using something like the onscreen keyboard I am now (and at almost half normal typing speed, which is pretty fast, and with few mistakes) would be problematic.

yes....indeed...that does make sense..
in the way they work...they can do pretty much the same, while FPS and aimin goes to Nintendo though..yeh

After market sensor bar or recent Wii purchase?
After some research I have learned it oringally had just 3 per side but newer sensor bars now have 5 per side.

@Viper... PAL, bought Feb 6th 2007 (so 2 months from release)
I don't know what after market means by the way... but I figure the purchase date is probably the right answer.

After market means a product bought separately from the stock parts that come with your product (usually from a different company). Such as buying a 3rd party wireless sensor bar - that would be after market.
Very little public data seems to exist on the LED alterations in the sensor bar but I'm guessing that PAL launched with the upgraded sensor bar with 5 LED's per side.
