NOW it is REALLY looking good!
I watched the video, it seemed a little QTE heavy. I might still get it though. I'll keep my one good eye on it.

Capcom overall have been good to the Wii. Zack & Wiki and the Resident Evil games are great....We do not talk about Dead Rising: CTYD though. x.o |
No, you should. Dismissing a game based on judgements made before it was released is a disservice to not just the game and Capcom, but to Wii development. This was the first large scale HD game remade for the Wii. How many developers have done that for the Wii? Capcom. Take-Two doesn't even count, since Table Tennis is not a large scale game.
It doesn't have as many enemies, and is forced to spread some out and swap around others, but what template did that have to put enemies of that scale on areas of that scale? NONE. The Grinder isn't even comparable, even if it has more enemies, since its levels were designed to accomodate that.
This game is a first. If you people knew how many firsts turn out, you would understand why this game was a miracle it even plays properly (you know the things that suddenly stopped mattering). The graphics are far better than the early screens indicated (and that's not up to debate, since I am referring to things like texture resolution), and the game runs as soundly as RE4, without even slowdown (so far).
But most importantly, because Capcom first tried putting a game like this on the Wii, when most developers have been dismissive at the thought, shows that they like the Wii, and are giving it even more games, like Spyborgs. More HD to Wii games are possible now, because this game showed it can be done, and they have a better idea of what works and what doesn't.
Spyborgs is luckier, since it's made for the Wii, and apparently built on established templates, like R&C (former Insomniac people are working on this).
As for the screens, it seems to have a similar art direction to R&C. That's fine by me.

The pictures look more interesting than the trailer. Hard to say, some parts are ok.

nice rant over a sentence... |
The point still stands. Capcom now has a better grasp of what the Wii can and cannot do because of CTYD. Seriously, how many developers other than Nintendo (and maybe S-E if Crystal Bearers is as large scale as it looks)? If this even helped Spyborgs, it's already serving a purpose.

*shrugs* Capcom have always made me happy about their Wii support. I'm not a fan of DR:CTYD but that's the only game I've expressed disappointment with them about thus far. There's probably more but nothing I was anticipating. |
Sorry. Thought you were one of those prejudicial gamers. CTYD is decent, but not for everyone (but same applies to DR1). I still say, and hope, it's just another stepping stone for more awesome Wii games from Capcom (since the HD systems already have great games from them).
And can't wait to see what Spyborgs will finally be like.

No problem. It's assumed that whenever someone features a game avatar that they are fanboy of said console. I am really excited about Spyborgs. Partially because it reminds me of Ratchet & Clank (one of my all-time favorite series)..partially because I want to see how far they went with this new direction they've taken. |
What's your avatar of? Too Human? Usually fanboys have avatars and sigs of the major exclusives.
Also, as I mentioned, former Insomniac people are working on this game, which explains the aesthetic, and gives me even more hope.

Once again, Nintendo's philosophy pops up. But why settle for game play when you can have both?
