I respect Pete even more after reading that interview. Very passionate man. He has great hopes for this game.

Milo can understand emotional signals. Peter said himself he didn't understand the words. I have yet to read any preview where he didn't just mirror the emotion of the "player." Sounds more conducive to a virtual dog than a boy. Animals know when you are happy and sad and even can respond to some words.
"You can never jump away from Conclusions. Getting back is not so easy. That's why we're so terribly crowded here."
Canby - The Phantom Tollbooth
I want the scenario where you coax Milo into building Skynet, so when he becomes self aware he'll know precisely what to do next. I hope he gives a nervous giggle right after he goes online too.
this all seems like its trying to make the future happen now with in the constraints of present tech.
it all sound like another round of "home" to me.
looks great, sounds great but when it comes out its just meh...

Home is not constrained by modern tech. It's just poorly implemented. It's 1994 virtual reality mentality coming out in 2008.
This Milo thing should be interesting enough. I mean tech should have evolved greatly since Seaman and that game was fantastic(ly weird) as a pet simulator.
This is great tech. The best AI concieved for a game. Now release this tech to use in RPG's. You could even incorporate controller with this tech for talking in cities. The AI would become immense. Or have no controller and swing swords and that yourself. Natal is a dream come true.
