Forums - Gaming - How does ps3 manage to get a rockstar exclusive??

Its not an established IP. Its hard to get excited over an uproven title (anyone else remember State of Emergency? Didn't think so). This isn't to say that it won't turn out to be huge (remember, no one ever predicted the impact of GTA3), but until we get to release, its a giant question mark.

Rockstar did not Develop State of Emergency, they only published it.

They allowed GTA IV to be multiplatform to aqcuire an exclusive franchise for playstation

Dude, calm down. It's timed. The 360 will get it, prolly with exclusive DLC. LOL.

That's pure speculation at this point. We know nothing about the game, except for the name and that it's PS3 EXCLUSIVE.

Sony and Rockstar have always been close, I'm not too surprised about this.

So, R* is so close they haven't released any - I repeat - ANY DLC, not even new cars, guns on the PS3 - and they are friends? So, out of the goodness of their hearts, they will make a game for the Sony fans. Please. $$$ is $$$ and you can say what you want, but $$$, not loyalty, is paying the bills. I still marvel at how folks are still stuck in last gen. This is now - and an 8M lead may seem small to the average gamer, but to devs, publishers, 8M represents 8M potential customers. And $$$$. And sadly, cash rules. Loyalty doesn't.

I'll stop. PS3-only owners have had enough cold water thrown on them this E3. I won't add to the downpour.

Well its BIG, & xbox 360 fans are marginalizing this BIG TIME along with FFXIV........god both the announcements were better than the FFXIII multiplat announcement last year.

That announcement was epic, not because 360 owners were getting FFXIII, it was seeing the record breaking butthurt from all the ps3 fanboys.

There's two types of loyalty. There's loyalty...and then there's loyalty which is based off money. Now...if you were a business man, would you be loyal for free....or for a price?

Rockstar is a hit/miss company. Let's hope this game is a hit.

Sony and Rockstar are close, some game developers want to make quality games not just profit.
