It looks accurate and all, but if you have to buy an camera as well as a wand it'll never really catch on. Definitely my biggest disappointment from that conference.

While there's not mention of the price of the wands, at least the PSeye is $40 :P

I would agree that while interesting, the guys presenting that seemed a bit uneasy.

Yea he didn't look like he was used to the large crowd :p

MS showed a video sony showed a live demo, like nintendo said you can make anything work and look cool on a pre recorded video

Its better then WM+ but worse then what MS has, so who really cares. I see no use for them in normal gaming.

WM+ is already 100% accurate. So it is as accurate as it, or is worse. You can't be more accurate then 100%.

And I don't wanna see what happens if you cover the purple head of the device.

wm+ is not 100% go watch the videos where you can see them moving while the stuff is going on screen.

And that is due to developer choice, not WM+ capabilities. The WM+ is 1:1, just like Playstation Motion thingy.

@topic

my thoughts on both MS and Sony is they shouldn't have shown them. Neither is coming out within the year, and had no real games to demo with them. MS's is interesting since it is different, but they didn't prove it could work for core games, and Sony's is a joke due to being a knockoff of both systems. Also the fact that I have to buy the 100% useless PSEye wouldn't make me happy if a game I wanted required the motion controller.

Had both of them waited til they could show something more than MSPaint capabilities and car racers, like a real game that was going to be released they would have gone over 1000x better with the press and general audiences.

My guess is they both fear Nintendo with WM+ so they threw something together as fast as they could even if it wasn't going to be out for another year.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Engineers and real programmers are often quite uneasy with large crowd presentations. I know I hate doing it.

Dont like it... Sony should have concentrated on getting ready even more games... but then they need to jump the bandwagon if they want to remain in the race :|

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I never was even able to hid the ball in wii sports baseball so I'll give him a break with the tenis ball. It looks like it could be interesting if they make games that use it well.

we have already wii motion plus that does the same thig and will have actuall games from 3rd parties. besides those wands need camera to work? sorry, but this won't work if you need to buy additional accesory just for this thing to work. what will be the price of the whole thing? 100-120$? just to play 3-4 titles on ps3 that will probably be only from sony? no thanks.

Natal is really not that good man, it couldn't properly recognize the movements of the people doing the demo let alone when people try it at home. You need a controller to feel the force feedback i dont know i think the precision of the sony demo was enough to put it way ahead of natal. That elephant painting natal did was just terrible it looked like the controls were sloppy and limited.

I see more potential and practicality for the ps3 motion controller than natal. Something about pretending to have an invisible steering wheel that worries me.

I'm not a fan of this controller but I'm not noticing the "lots of issues with depth" you seem to have found , but this controller IMO is technicacly sound , there's various reasons for him not being able to hit the balls.

1.Speed of the ball might not have been 1:1 with a normal tennis ball .

2.IIRC he was looking at himself hit a ball which is different from hitting a ball in 1st person.

3.His timing was poor.

I still think the controller will have no commercial viability this generation but that's for technical reasons.
