Sony's first party on the X360 ;)
For me I am not in my Opinion bias toward any of the systems to me they are feature rich systems.
the only reason's i do not own a XBOX360 at this point is a few factor's but other than those i would prob. in all likely hood own one.
1) my friends already own one.
2) im not that much into playing online with other player's except for MMO's
3) the majority of the game that do interest me most of them i can already play on the PC
4) I can get PC parts cheap..this is prob. the largest reason.
5) I like the D-pad on the PS controller better over the xbox controller
6) i only have so much time in the week or day to play game's and its just not in the card's hell i do not get to play my PS3/PC OR Wii game's very much as is.

ps:
Proud psOne/2/3/p owner. I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.
Wooo plenty of reasons:
- Sony's 1st party games
- PS controller is lighter, the Dpad is actually better, and it recharges
- hardware probs, why waste $600 on 3 arcades when u can get a PS3 for almost half of it (I got mine on BestBuy for $350 with GH.aero and a Guitar :P)
- Online is not free
- MGS4
I dislike it in general, launching it with problems while knowing (M$) , if they launch the next one in better shape I'd probably think on buying it. :P
Free online
I am a little afraid of getting RROD
Sony's First and second party studios making games for 360
If it's exclusives that matter to me weren't also on PC

Free online play. Everyone else does it, why can't Microsoft. Especially if they aren't going to host any servers.
Free wifi. Seriously, it's on the DS. Get with the program Microsoft.
HDD shell so you can EASILY (I know you can hack it) swap out an OEM HDD of your choice. I'm not paying Microsoft $150 (MSRP) for a 120GB HDD when I can get a 250 GB for less than half that.
Every time I think about possibly purchasing an XBox360, I think about the four things I mentioned above, and am instantly turned off by it. Particularly the XBox Live Gold fees. Yes, I realize that it's just a couple dollars/month, but I'd rather buy an extra game every year than buy the ability to play my games online for a year.

I have a lot of respect for both the 360 and Wii but I would simply not buy anything else than a Sony console. Like I've stated, it's a matter of loyalty towards a brand. I'm not hating on the other brand or anything like that, it's just a mentality that I have. Playing a MGS game on the 360 just wouldn't be the same thing to me. Sony has never let me down and they will always be able to count on me as a consummer.
Also, I just don't have the kind money to afford another console and I'm not looking to buy another one. If I want to play Wii exclusive games or 360 exclusive game, I only have to ask my friends who own them.
@ the ''J man'' I'm not sure who the hell you think you are to judge me like this, but the video game consoles I decided to buy are seriously none of your business. |
Where in the J mans post did he judge you based on the system you own?
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!
For many reasons, I will never switch over to MS, and I mean never. I will not give MS any support with my money as I despise them as a company, and the way I see it, the 360 "only" have games that include guns and aliens (I say "only" because it is obivious that they have other stuff as well, but main focus = guns and alien setting). I will not pay for LIVE either, as I am more the single player type of guy, but I sometimes like to play MP. I also hate how they have set the standard for online play on consoles and that they focus so much on it, because before they entered the business, people were happy with playing brilliant SP games, but not so anymore.. Now, everything has to include this MP...
With all the problems concerning the 360 as well, like RROD, disc scratching, etc, I just don't see any value in the console for me. I also just love how Sony and Nintendo do their stuff with their 1st party and I can't say that MS is doing the same thing. Most of the exclusives are bought franchises ONLY to hurt their competitors (and of course improve their own business) and I will not support that. I would rather have a ratio of 90/10 own made/bought exclusives than 15/85 own made/bought exclusives. Just show which companies that work hard for their money which they don't have. Only reason MS is able to survive in this business is because they have this "unlimited deep pocket of money" they can spend to try and shake up an already stable and solid business.
Actually, I see as the day MS entered the gaming business as a black day of gaming. I know many would disagree, and frankly I don't care. Ever since I had my first Windows it was always been acting up from the start, and ever since I have disliked everything that is connected to MS. If anyone were to leave the gaming business, I would pray for it to be the one that not really bring any of their own effort into the market, and that would be MS.
If the day of MS only gaming comes, I will quit gaming for sure and just find a new hobby. As sad as that is... Sometimes you just have to let some things go if you want to follow your own beliefs and moral standards in life, as cheesy and stupid tha may sound...
With this I am not saying that Nintendo and Sony are the holy grail of gaming and never do anything wrong and that they are perfect companies and all that stuff. Every company do shitty stuff, but I just enjoy their approach a whole lot more and I admire their efforts on how to stay in the game. They do their own work, and I respect that.
| Garamond said: I have all three consoles and only prefer the PS3 because it runs quieter than the 360. I know people have all this hooplah over a possible PS3 slim, but I'd really like to see a 360 slim that doesn't make the hellish noise my current 360 has always been making. It'd be enough to entice me to buy the console a second time. I have no idea if it will ever happen and haven't really heard Microsoft ever make mention about a possible slim-line to the 360, but that's something I would definitely like to see and hope Microsoft has plans for. |
My PS3 use to be quiet and my 360 use to be loud, but after replacing my old 360 with a new one, my 360 is as quiet as a mouse and my PS3 has started to be louder than my old 360.

If you're trying to be ironic, this is genius.

This is certainly one of my reasons aswel. I don't want microsoft to gain monopoly on more aspects than they already have.
Another thing is the money to play games online. As a avid pc gamer for many years, (and not a player of monthly fee mmos) the mere suggestion that i'd have to pay twice for my internet annoys me. :p
If someone gave me a xbox 360 i would keep it. But i don't think i'd go out and buy one. Again i have a pc so i can play most 360 games anyways... And yes i can play them on my hdtv cause my pc is hooked up to it :p |
About the price thing, it's like $3 a month. If you can afford a $300 console, you can afford a $3 monthly charge.
For that $3 you get a pretty reliable and fast network that runs much better than the free one.
I'm not going to rant and nothig against you, I only happened to see you say it first, I just hate that excuse.
The 360 does have its problems (RRoD, no built in wi-fi, Arcade doesn't have optical out) as does every other console but it's a pretty good console if they'd take only take the fanboy blinders off.
@ twesterm, whatever you may say about it only being $3 a month, it is the equivalent of an extra game, certainly in the UK, and it is just annoying, especially with online achievements which I can't get because I can't afford to pay for gold. And I have never had any problems with the PSN, the most lag and other online problems I have ever had with a game was Gears of War 2 (I did get gold for 3 months)
I have an 09 360 and it is loud as hell. I'm not sure what others are experiencing. Could my 360 have been broken right out the box?
