People are massively deluded, thinking Wii's main selling point is waggle. Still nice move, MS, but I have a feeling we won't see new thing till X720.

I also think this wont see full fuition untill the next Xbox, but if they can get it started well (like they did with XBLA on Xbox) they can work from there especially if it's compatible with the next system.  I think Microsoft is going to do transitional... and not full blown upgrade for the next system.  I expect not a price drop next, but the addition of this in every Arcade unit.

Im sure they could keep it fed with Wii ports.

What Wii game do you imagine porting to this?

Ouch, Time magazine and Spielberg quotes. That's guaranteed to stir up some of the mainstream audience.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

What is it then? Mario?

Almost any, they could do pointing and motion with the camera.

E.G. Boom Blox is just point and throw for example. Pretty easy stuff for the camera

Tease.

I think that for the most part, peripherals will became a big part of this device. Like, for racing games you can get a plastic whell, or even just a stick. For tennis games, a racket, golf, a fake club, you get the idea.

You all thinking that it will "only be your body" need to think a little harder. Its possible, yes, but you can also use periphs.

This is exactly the problem I have with the device.
If it really was a better way to interact, it wouldn't need peripherals for every genre. The price and space that would eat up is absurd.
Speaking of space, that's my other big issue with the technology. Those of us who don't have an incredibly large living room (as conveniently shown in their promotional video) are going to have to pass on flailing our legs about.

I honestly believe this technology - especially the impressive voice recognition - is best used in conjunction with a more traditional handheld controller. At its current state it seems innovative for casual games and intriguing tech demos, but little else.

We've already had conversation on this matter, not gonna repeat all over again. In short... it's games obviously (including Mario at some extent, of course, but it's appeal is limited, Wii games appeal en masse is far more than Mario). "Waggle" it's just sort of easy to use interface, it's a fad without proper software.

//People sometimes do really think my opinion = vox populi? If you having problems defining what other people would think of Wii game library, other than your age, sex and game experience - ask you mom or girlfriend what do they think.

I think some of you are kind of missing the point. It may track your body, but that doesn't stop you from using a bat or a club to give some real tactile feel to the game. I also think that the Wii will do just like it has been doing. I do think that exercise games on the Wii could be done much better on the 360's Natal... I can already see EA porting over their games. What's really neat about this is that we may just be able to see some cross platforms with the 360 and Wii as both use a very similar architecture.

So instead of LCD TV's destroyed by a WII controller now they will be destroyed by real clubs, bat and so on? ;)

I can see the headlines "man puts head through TV while playing Rockband 3" or "Man punches wife while playing Fight Night Round 5"

Haha, I absolutely agree.

I just feel that without one, most genres will be incredibly limited - or at least more difficult and complicated.

when the wii first launched.. i too thought OMG nintendo this is so gonna fail.. n it probably would have.. had it not been for wiisports/play/fit which are simple, fun and awesome.

Project natal looks very very interesting. No controller, HD graphics on the 360 and interactive UI for the NXE.. very cool

Economically it makes sense too.. all you have to do is buy a $199 arcade, the natal camera.. which would retail for say.. $99 or cheaper. thats all. For four players.

Wii would cost you.. $250+ wiimote+nunchuck x4+ $20 for wii motion plus X4- for 4 players

Now that makes the 360 a hell of a deal if your into casual motion gaming..

Good job M$.. you may not have all the exclusives that sony does. But you still have some brilliant tricks up your sleeve. If they can get this thing out by fall.. we are looking at some very strong 360 sales.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
