God of War isn't going to help the PS3. Gears of War 1 outsold both God of War 1 and God of War 2 COMBINED. Sony needs something new, something fresh, and something big that can stand toe to toe with what Microsoft has lined up.

And I really doubt GT5 will be the system seller that people would make it out to be.

When comparing PS3's 2009 lineup to 360's 2009 lineup, the winner becomes a matter of preference.  In my opinion, Uncharted 2 looks so good that nothing the 360 has coming "this year" can compete.  Next year we have confirmation of AAA titles coming to 360: Alan Wake etc... however, so does the PS3: God Of War 3 etc.... not to mention Sony's E3 conference tomorrow that "could" potentially best Microsoft's conference!!  It is wrong to lock Sony out, without giving them a chance to show what they have!

 

I'm not talking about personal preference.  I'm talking about game sales, and system sales.  Games like Halo and Gears of War sell BIG time.  Sony doesn't really have one.  Ok, MAYBE GT5, but let's remember that until now, the GT series really didn't have any competition.  Forza released after GT4.  That's kind of depressing, Turn 10 can churn out 3 Forza games in the time it takes DP to make one GT game.  GT5 had better be the best damn racing game ever.

And I'm excited as hell for Uncharted 2 as well.  Easily my most anticipated game this year unless Trico makes a surprise appearance and releases this year.

it did opposite it revived my interest in Xbox 360, i can't wait for tomorrow, there's gonna be a bloodshed.

Exactly. Just look at it this way. All three companies have invested a large amount of money into their systems. You can view these systems as 'buildings' or 'skyscrapers'. If all it takes is a little gust of wind to knock these down, they weren't very good to start off with. This has been going for 3 years now, with a system always being Doomed, yet here we are, and all 3 are still standing. What makes anyone think that a little announcement from the competitor is going to thwart their multi-billion dollar investments.

Of course it is not finished. However, it will have a harder time than before to beat MS. MS did really good today, and they were looking weak yesterday. However, PS3 is never "finished" that is silly.

MS going first of the big three is not so great an idea imo.
Far greater impact to go last, and gives the competitors something to upstage.
That said,
I have no idea why some xbox 360 fans think the PS3 is finished.
If it were, why would MS bother to try compete with it? it would be a done deal like the Wii.

Probably the same reason why PS3 owners were saying the 360 was done earlier this year with no games from now on. Comments like these were stupid then and they're stupid now.

Sadly, PS3 fanboys (much like 360 and Wii fanboys) can dish it out but they can't take it, so they make threads like these asking for a please explain as to why their console is supposedly finished.

Don't worry, the momentum is definitely with MS right now (swung pretty dramatically), but Sony is more than capable of making it swing once more.

I tell u what....

when Ps3 gets hacked and their games can be pirated then it will be gone.....

For those that did not know...

Microsofts 360 get modded and hacked the most of all consoles......go figure the amount of money game companies have been loosing....

the xbox 360 "modded controllers" has depleting on line gaming....

take a look for urself the many ways you can improve ur ranking system on live...
"lag switch
"rapid fire
"turbo buttons....

Playstation are loosing money "console wise"

but Due to piracy and modded 360 and controllers.....nothign can be compared to the amount of losses by game companies releasing for the 360 :)

Finished is clearly an overreaction. But MGS was Sony's biggest remaing 3rd party exclusive franchise. Now that honour falls to... Actually, I'm not sure

Sure..losing the exclusivity was a blow to Sony (again) but it would have been much worse if it was last E3. Now that...would have been something big.
