well, after watching the way Microsoft's conference turned out, I would say that if was just Microsoft and Nintendo in the show that Nintendo pretty much needs to send someone out to say, "Hi." And then go back to the hotel room to fly back to Japan. Because all they would need to do now to win if it was just Microsoft and Nintendo is simply show up. I would say pretty much the same thing about Sony.

The people on NeoGAF haven't been that wrong since they thought the Wii was a fad.

No, this won't kill the Wii. Motion controls aren't even the Wii's biggest selling point. It's the image of the Wii and the image of its software. Microsoft won't be able to match that.

Games. That's it. Some big BIG games would dominate.

MS had about 3 games that peaked my interest and Natal was a cool device, however, it won't be a system seller as is. It will be a breakthrough device for PC's.

Natal won't push 360 sales and will never outsell WiiFit. But, it will launch many cool software ideas and have some nice games, if only a handful. I for one would like to see an RTS game utilized.

But the genres that sale the HD consoles won't really benefit from Natal.

As for Wii specifically, games. It needs Zelda * 10. It needs some absolutely fantastic game from retro. It needs some big 3rd party announcements and a massively glorious demo from Conduit.

It needs a MGS, GTA, etc to push the megaton announcement hype train.

It's just a late add on like Sega Activator and Sony Eye Toy that is not native with the console.
It will be treated as a separate device and fade away..Wii started out of the gate as a motion system and whole strategy is around motion controls and has a 3 year head start.

Yeah it must suck, you make a thread how about the Wii is only next gen because of the motion controls then a competitor makes an even more impressive motion control stuff.

MS will have to sell 72% more consoles than it has sold LTD to match where the wiis are now. Taking last weeks numbers as just a benchmark, and say XBox sales doubled and wii sales fell by 50% it would take more than 3 years for the Xbox to catch up to Wii

There is zero chance of the Wii not finishing this generation in the number 1 spot, there just isn't
