i talked with a few of my friends who are 360 fanboys. they have no intention of buying that thing. and frankly, i cant blame em. this may be innovative but nobody can see it on a console like the xbox, how do you expect to play an fps or a tps.
Technology wise, it's much better than the eye-toy. There's certainly a lot of fun things that will be done with it.
Does it have the versatility of the Wii-mote, or the accuracy of Wii M+? We'll have to see.
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
I just know nobody clapped when the guy was like, "the controller is, you!" after he paused lol, was kinda embarrassing.

Honestly not really looking forward to it, and if this is all the 360 has to offer this year, than I might as well become a sony/nintendo fan right now.

Seriously, people... this is not meant to be a device for controlling FPS type games... but who knows, they have a wide and open future where they could make it compatible.
This is directly targeting the Wii, casuals, and the 60% of families in the US alone that do not own a console. As they stated, the controller is a barrier because it is a piece of technology that can potentially turn off many individuals. Pushing buttons to get actions on screen is not always the easiest thing to get used to. What this does is remove the need for a controller so that everyone can participate in it's games. All you need is your life experience and the ability to move.
This is about bringing in the people who don't even have a Wii because the notion of a controller at all is intimidating to them. If you think these people don't exist, you are naive and are clouded by the fact that you do know how to game on a controller. You grew up with this and learned on this, but for many many more that is not the case.
I can't say if I will buy it just yet as they don't have many details released, but from the games they did show, and from the potential I can see for this device, I am definitely interested!
By the way Milo wasn't just a tech demo. Its part of a game according to Peter Molyeneux

My knee-jerk reaction to this was to agree, but on further reflection I'm not so sure.
One thing to remember about MS is that they are far more dependant on third-party developers than Nintendo or Sony. Just look at Microsoft's NPD PR, where they talk about revenue and third-party success all the time. Much of the 360's PR is more about selling the platform to developers than it is about selling it to customers.
So I'm not sure if MS could introduce Natal with the NeXtbox and expect huge success, because they need to secure third party support for the device in order to drive sales. They might not intend for consumers to jump on Natal as a 360 input device (since there's no release schedule, MS might not intend to release Natal for 360 at all), they might simply be introducing third party developers to the input device so that they get interested in supporting it a couple years down the road.

Yeah it is amazing and looks way better than the Wii remote. I am only not fan of motion controls but it is funny to see MS making montion control stuff more amazing than on the wii :).
