Ok, first off, let me say that E3 is only fun because of big and amazing announcments. Demo'ing games the public hasn't Demo'd yet is novel, but in the end, completely moot. Hearing about NEW games, and changes to the game industry as a whole, that is what I care about, so that is what I predict. End of story.
So, here we go, this is what I HOPE and predict:
Nintendo-kun:
Ah yes, Nintendo knows that this year, they can't dissapoint the core audience. Question is, what do they think will appease us? They must know that in order to appease us, they must exceed our expectations, and thustly, at the end of the conference 2 new games will be shown:
A. Zelda Wii. It will incorporate the Wii motion plus, AND will come packaged with a Wii motion plus, just like Kart and the wheel. The game will be shown, and vaguely dated for Early 2010. The game will have a unique artstyle, and incorporate a real sword motion gameplay gimmick, which WILL be awesome.
B. Super Mario Universe for Wii. This will be a direct sequel to Galaxy. The game will use the same graphics engine as Galaxy, and the same gameplay. It will be an expanded content pack for Galaxy, again, with some sort of Wii Motion Plus or Wii Fit gimmickry that will be awesome.
C. Wii Fit Plus. I dont' care about this one. No prediction for you!
Xbox 360/MS
The old box. MS knows what American's like. An "oh snap!" moment at the end of the show. We will have that. Besides that, we pretty much know everything from this this year. New camera motion toy, new Splinter Cell(be a big talk of the show), Perfect Dark 2, Zune HD, showing of old games, so firmware update with a cool gimmick, let's focus on the "almost" megaton possibilities(megatons are unpredictable):
A. New game from Peter. Oh yes. That would be cool. Lionhead did a great job with Fable 2, and a new game from them, while not a megaton, would be welcome news. Release in 2010.
B. MGS4, MGS5, or VersesXIII multiplat for the Xbox 360.
C. Some upcoming big game exclusive to the 360. GTA or something smaller. XIII spinoff maybe. This could possibly be Halo 4.
Playstation Brand
Well, Sony had a few of their major announcements spoiled. I think a 100 dollar price cut is impossible, but we might see a 50. The PSP Go and the Slim PS3 are both major spoilers that might have been huge, but are now known by everyone, just like the 360 motion stuff. We also might seen new motion stuff from Sony, as well as a ton of older games. MAG, new GoW3 trailer/demo(will be highly touted by previewers), Gran Turismo stuff.
A. I think that we'll see the new Metal Gear game announced on the PS3/PSP. It is all but confirmed, but it would still be of significance.
B. Sony shows a lot of their old games, and gives us a new one for next year, the new TEAM ICO exclusive. Shadow of the Colossus 2.
C. Sony gives some sort of new usage to the EyeToy, to challenge MS's new motion technology, but it will not be as advanced.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
