I'm wondering if the gamestop shipments were huge because of pre-orders and that every other store just under stocked it because they thought it would be a bad investment...

Yeah I do remember seeing a lot of commercials. To the untrained eye, it looks like GTA with an electric superhero. It may actually exceed expectations. Plus, these shortages are introducing even more hype.

This game could be bigger than I thought if this is the case everywhere.

I predicted a respectable 200,000 at launch with about 1.5 million lifetime.
