Forums - Nintendo - Would you give up on Nintendo

Would you give up on them if they do another E32008?

I don't think I can take a conference of WiiFit + and WSR. Sure, those games will make them lots of cash, but I honestly don't care for them, although I understand their appeal. They will probably show enough games to satisfy the "core" audience, but what if they don't? I'm just very scared that they won't learn from the criticism they earned last year.

If it comes to that, I definitely won't look at them the same way. But thankfully, I will love my Wii because 3rd parties are giivng us great games.

Dead Space Extraction, Darkside Chronicles, Little King's Story, The Crystal Bearers, Monster Hunter 3, Resteel 2, The Conduit, The Grinder, Silent Hill:SM, Boy and his blob, Tales of Graces, No More Heroes 2. and many other games.

It's sad very sad that during the 6th generation, Nintendo was criticized because they were the only ones making good games for the Gamecube, while most 3rd parties ignored it. Now, Nintendo is giving us less games, while 3rd paties give us more, yet we now criticize NIntendo for it. Kinda funny.

(Are they really giving us less games? Maybe we're (I'm) just hungrier.

P.s. How much do you love my new avatar? :D

What for?

I will be giveing either my PS3 or Wii to my little brother based on E3 so we will see...

I will give up on Nintendo when they go out of business or get bought.

Nintendo 4 lyfe. :P

Nah, the DS still has cool games coming up.

Around the Network

never ever

they could announce Wii Music 2 and 3 and I would still be beside them

We will see, but no one can take offense to last year's showing. I really didn't mind it and I thought it was okay...honestly, it (E3) was just for showing off games, hardware and a company's business plans. I thought E3 as a whole last year (for both Microsoft and Sony) was alright and everyone was a winner. That's how it should be. They are just companies that want an appeal from many consumers, but don't throw in the towel just because one company doesn't making a sweeping presentation.

no way, I grew up with the... GB, lol

Don't get me wrong I do favor my xbox 360 over my Wii by a large margin, but that doesn't mean that I or anyone else should give up on Nintendo. They are arguably the best game developer of all time. As much as they milk their franchise titles (you can also bank on their franchise titles living up to the hype as well) and they still manage to introduce many new original titles each and every generation. The fact that Nintendo titles sell so well on Nintendo consoles has more to do with their track record.

Hell no. Even if they actually unannounced Sin and Punishment 2 and took Punch-out!! off store shelves I wouldn't give up on them or their console.

Third-parties have enough games coming to wii anyway, I can barely choose.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."
