If the Wii was the last console Nintendo ever released, I have a strange feeling that the PS3 and 360's successors will become more and more like PC's until the difference between Alienware computers and Sony and MS's "consoles" are exclusives and bundled controllers.

Wow, I actually found myself to agree about much of this. Still, I don't think it's that important. Most people know too little to care about such things anyway - except for price of course.

The 4th value of gaming you didn't mention: Good games.

Yeah Nintendo has good first party games, but that's it. Lots of Wii owners have already admitted there aren't many good games.

While the PS3 is may not be affordable to the average guy who didn't work hard in school and wound up with a shit job, it has great games any many great features.

i think its the total opposite, nintendo strays away from what a console is considered thats why it does so well.

My personal contribution is this, consoles have always tried to be different from PCs, when PS1 launched it was a fair priced system, with a lot of pick up and play titles and some horrendous 3D that you wouldn't ever see on the PC, would we want it any other way? Hell no :P

The Wiiis the only true new console.

The PS3 controller negates everything about it. It is PS2 all over again with new graphics.

The 360 is great, and the new controller is better than the Xbox1 version, but the library has minimal variety. Games like Wheelman, Wanted, Riddick, The Darkness(not all exclusive) feel like the exact same stuff I was playing last-gen.

Stuff on the Wii is very unique, and you can't find stuff like that on any other console.
