Forums - Sony - GCN Exclusive: Say hello to the PSP Go - First pics of PSP Go

@ necromunda, you would have to have that in a PSP 2, because of compatibility with the old PPS for new games

Anyway, it is really growing on me, but there are a couple of things that I need to know
Firstly, will I have to take 2 PSPs with me on holiday if this does not take UMDs... what will I do with those
Secondly, will they sell codes in boxes or will they just go to online only?

Oh, and that Jak footage looks awesome

I just saw this on kotaku about the PSP GO box and the rumored PS3 slim box image.

http://kotaku.com/5273226/comparison-says-ps3-slim-box-maybe-kinda-realish

"The box has a strikingly similar layout as the PSP Go box. The logo on the bottom left hand side, along with the PSN logo, and memory capacity on the bottom right hand side. Also the Sony, and PlayStation logos in each respective upper corners. Lastly the colored XMB wave "stripe" across the middle of the box with the PS3/PSP layered over it is the same on each box, just using a different color for each box."

@Necromunda: A 2nd analog makes no sense for a current generation PSP revision. Think about it for more than 10 seconds and maybe you could figure out why.

Thinking about it, my guess is that this is a semi-trial for a PSP2. Release this without a UMD drive, see how well it sells, get feedback from customers, etc. That way Sony can make an intelligent choice whether to abandon a disc drive for the PSP2, which is a much bigger decision than releasing a UMD-less PSP, while still selling the PSP-3000.

Close enough though

Thos two fakes just look awesome. I really do hope that the other one isn't real....

Come to think of it, is this the final PSP Go? that really looks prototype-ish to me. Maybe Sony wants public feedback on that and then make a final revision?

it will launch fall 2009 so i doubt this is still a prototype.

Seeing as how this has been leaked with Qore, I wouldn't expect the finished product to be radically different if there are any changes at all.

Wow, the PSP Go looks terrible. I thought it was going to be something that looks pretty good a la the DSL -> DSi change, something that would make me want to upgrade. The PSP Go is terribly disappointing, design and spec-wise. I think I'll stick with my current PSP.

If I didn't have a PSP and was planning on buying a new PSP I'd still rather go for the "older" PSPs over the Go.
