It does pretty much do that way to be honest because I didn't hear these same people complaing in the thread about Major Nelson mentioning the "Once in a lifetime" thing.
If you check that thread you will find that one who suggested that threads like this be locked was in that thread acting entirely different, to be honest for some reason in that thread he/she has zero issues with a "Major Nelson promises MEGATONZ" thread.
Either bitch about it for all of them or don't bitch about it at all. Enough with the picking and choosing already.

There are two types of people on the forums (well, probably more than that, but...) those who get excited about games, and those who tell people not to be excited about games because their console is failing. I guess I'd rather be part of the former.

Exactly, how could that not be a "megaton"? I'm trying to think of a bigger game announcement than that. I guess Halo 4 going to a different console (exclusive). Hmmmmm.... thats about all I can think of.
Just because it's not a megaton "for you" means nothing. The latest Zelda bored the crap out of me, but I recognize it's a big announcement when the next is announced.
