First they gave Killzone 2 a 7/10, now this a 6/10. Nice work.

Predictably 360 fanboys wheel out the "everyone's entitled to their own opinion [whisper: when it's bad about PS3 exclusives!]".

Want to count how many threads there are that include PS3 fanatics crying over review scores then compare the numbers to other systems?  The PS3 fans whinge more than anyone else about review scores where as bad scores on other systems get a shrug of the shoulder and proceed to buy the title anyway.

For the record everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's not your place to say they're wrong or indeed call them fanboys for taking a reasonable stance.  Perhaps you should take that fanboy label and stick it in your sig, seems more appropriate for you to wear it.

They only really whine over exculsives.  But either way i think this review was BS

WOW, Sony forums is dangerously infested with Xbots!!!

"B-but there are so many more Sony fanboys on this site."

You count as 100 sonyfan boys.   I think there are the same amount but certain people make it seem like there are far more sony fanboys

LOL .. oh man ... I'm 99% positive you go to bed dreaming about the console wars, its all your posts ever contain.

I'm pretty sure it goes for all sites to have their own opinion, if some site thinks L4D is a 6/10 then so be it. Not going to get my knickers in a twist because of it.

You still didn't answer my question, why are you here? Prototype FTW, amirite? The impression I get is that even if you DID own a PS3 you wouldn't buy inFamous, so why do you care? Because it's a low score? I mean, seriously. You're 20 years old, stop being childish.

I did answer you, you're just too impatient to wait. I do plan on trying out the InFAMOUS demo this christmas, if I like the game I'll buy it.

Whats wrong with a 60? I mean some sites may actually be using a true 0-100 scale. Please don't let your amazement interfere with your understanding of the implications of what I just said.

Upon further inspection of the site, they have only ever reviewed one game ever; Infamous.

I guess metacritic really is compromised.

another one gave killzone a 6.0.............they have only ever reviewed 2 ps2 games and 1 ds game. pathetic.

No idea why 360 only owners always feel the need to do a victory dance when a ps3 only game gets a low score...it's quite sad.

they do it everytime its getting old and annoying.

when its a 360 game that gets a low score they pretend they wasnt bothered about it.

Victory dance? Come on... Its at least a party, if not a total victory parade!

Review conglomeration sites are pointless anyway. The sites they use for their review synopsis don't have any standard scoring system so there is no real way to properly combine them in to one.

Example:

A Site that has a 0-100 (0.0 - 10.0) scale is very granular, and is usually what these sites default to, but this scews less granular reviews way up.

A site that uses a 0-10 scale is less granular, and a 10 could be from a 91-100, a 9 could be an 81 - 90, etc, but it is always rounded up.

A Site that uses a 5 star or similar makes it even worse. 5 stars could be 81-100, 4 stars is 61-80, etc, so they get rounded up. So a game that is excellent may get a 94 on a 0-100 site, but gets 5 stars on another, which gets pushed up to a 5 star.

What if a site uses a 0-7 scale? what do you do then.

Its all idiotic and any rating system is flawed. You are best to say "Who cares about reviews?" (They don't effect game sales any way) and just play the games you want.

An actually GOOD system would allow the reader to factor the reviewer's genre preferences (a guy who hates FPS isn't going to review Halo 3 well,) the reviewer's opinion as to what is most important about a game (graphics, gameplay, story, etc,) favorite series, etc, and no numbers would be used.

But people don't want to read, they just want to see a number and say "OMGz, GTA IV is the greatest game of all time, LOOK AT ALL THE 10s!!!!111"

I doubt that averaged out over a number of games/sites this would introduce any bias overall. All games get the same treatment here.

Usually the fans of the particular games/genres where applicable review the games. Otherwise MGS4 wouldn't have had as high a rating as its not 100% newbie to the series friendly.
