It's an amazing innovation to the gaming world, LBP is, but it just isn't a practical game. That is what got people so out of whack about it. It is an amazing innovation, but it's about an 8 hour game(generous) before you're completely done with it, unless you like creating your own content. Uncharted is more then 8 hours for sure.
OP: You cant go wrong here, but unless you have people to play with constantly LBP would be a bad choice. I'd say Uncharted or inFamous but since Uncharted is probably cheaper go with it instead.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Unless of course you want to play the good online levels, which are indeed amazing in many cases (and so much better than the official levels that, once you've put 100 hours into the game, you won't even remember playing the original levels.)
However, I highly reccommend playing LBP with friends in the same room or friends online. Most of the people on my friends list play LBP, and there are always pretty much 3 or 4 people playing it at ANY time of day. (Even at 4 am. It's actually slightly disturbing.)
Damn, that's hard. I would say it's between Uncharted and LBP.
Uncharted's strengths: Fun to replay, again and again, phenomenal graphics, platinum trophy gives you something to aspire to (as it's possible for a normal person)
LittleBigPlanet's strengths: Amazing co-op, simple but deep, a wide variety of user created levels, graphics are almost as good as Uncharted, and the option to create your OWN level.
Between those...I'd have to give the edge to Uncharted, but only slightly.

How is it short? You can play it again and again without getting bored- I did four playthroughs, and only stopped because I got WipeOut HD. Your first playthrough will be about 8 hours, and replay lengths will depend on the difficulty you are on.
As for "old", what does that have to do with anything? Ocarina of Time is older than Too Human. Goldeneye 007 is older than Haze. God of War is older than Heavenly Sword. Does that make them worse?
As I said, all of those games are excellent, but it's really between LBP and Uncharted, imo. inFamous isn't quite at that level of awesome, from what I've seen.
inFamous. It is a great game, not as good as Uncharted, but has better longevity
@ cgi-quality, even with 4 playthroughs of Uncharted, I have only spent 25 hours on the game, whereas 1 playthrough of inFamous could take 30 hours, and if he only has 1 game, he should probably get the one which will last longer
Though Uncharted is the best if you are not looking for length in particular
