i currently ff11 online on my ps2, been playing it for over 4 years now. i love the game, i would like either a sequel to ff11 online for the ps3 or a everquest game, those mmorpg's are more my taste, i tried wow and hated it.

I put many years of gameplay into Everquest 2 on the PC.  That game at first was hardcore until over time SOE changed alot of the gameplay and made it more user friendly (I don't think their had much choice really due to the inpact WoW was having).  I have also tried Everquest 1 and that game is not user friendly in anyway.

But back to the post, I don't know how their would make a mmorpg for the PS3 without dumping it down quite abit.

I played WoW for a few months, a while back. It was fun, but it was REALLY addictive, and monthly fees suck.

I would NEVER buy an MMO on a console- you can't type! Typing, and communication, is an extremely important part of any MMO.

Also, Everquest 2 is pretty old, so I don't think they'll bother. But now SOE is owned by SCE, so I think Everquest 3 will be on PS3.

I know that Sony has a deal with the company that makes Guild Wars going. How crazed would GW2 be on PS3?

EQ2 was released almost the exact same date as WoW... only a few days/weeks if my memory serves me correctly... unless you classify WoW as being pretty old as well. But I don't see how the age of the game matters... it doesn't matter to Activision-Blizard at least, all they want is money.

As for MMOs on a console, you can plug in a USB keyboard into the PS3, hell even PS2 (that's how I played FFXI for a while). With the keyboard, it runs pretty nicely, not as nice as a mouse probably, but not impossible or cumbersome at all.

I totally forgot about FFXI!! Maybe its cuz I shut down any desire to play MMORPGs (with the exception of Goal Line Blitz that doesn't require me to be on 24/7 for years to accomplish anything). However, where are they getting most of their money? I would think mainly for PC. Anyone got numbers on that??

Aah the good ole days of EQ...I remember those ToV raids for HoT quest pieces and later into NToV for the money run and on a good night the Vulak Ring.  Was always great to go back and solo old raid mobs...2box'ing Dozer with shm/war, soloing' XTC with Shm for TS items etc...

I can still faintly feel the call of evercrack over 3 years later...but I know how easy it is to get lost in those games (played ~7 years) so I stay away as far as I can so I don't get caught up again =/

i really dont think eq2 will ever be on ps3...but since soe is a part of sce i think next projects are possible to see on ps3
